Mizzou player talking smack about NU

During the Ball St. Game at a sports bar called Icehouse in Omaha, only a hand full of Mizzu fans clapped evertime Ball St. did something good. And especially when nebraska was losing. But what was kind of nice is when how they reacted when Nebraska kept coming back, they were depressed as usual. Sam did his job, but the defence needs to pick it up. I will never go against the huskers.

Read the last couple of sentences of this article. I really hope that we get to "stick" Pig Brown!

Hey ... Mizzou fan here. I don't particularly have a problem with what Pig said. He knows, as well as everyone here, that for Mizzou to have a chance to contend for the North we have to get past Nebraska. Would it be nice to beat Nebraska by two or three touchdowns? Of course. He probably shouldn't have said that. But he's definitely echoing what his teammates and the fans are thinking.

Good luck Oct 6. Maybe I'll see you on the hill!

This is interesting to me. From all the evidence I have seen so far, Mizzou's defense is just as suspect as Nebraska's. They have given up some big yards this year too. However, we all know what Missouri's standards are on defense, especially compared with the standards that Huskers hold their defenses to. I don't think they should be "drooling" over what they could do to the Blackskirts on October 6th, because in all likelihood Nebraska will have its offensive claws out as well.

Since Mizzou is playing "good" by Mizzou's "standards", perhaps they have the upperhand with confidence and swagger. Otherwise, I don't really see any reason for them to be talking this much sh#t before the game. Perhaps this kind of bulletin board material is what the 'Skers needed to get "energized" and "have fun dominating people" (to quote McKeon).
But according to McKeon, it doesn't matter if they give up 1200 yards, as long as they win... :wtf

I'm pretty sure that is the only thing that people are having problems with. I can tell you this.... you guys arent good enough to say stuff like that. I could see oklahoma saying, but not MU.

Well, without seeming to defend the play of the defense this year, what does it matter how many yards are given up if they get the W. What if this years Huskers go on to win the next 10 games by 1 point a piece and give up 500+ yards per game. I'd think we'd all see some really exciting football and overall would be ecstatic. I really do think that the W is what counts. It doesn't have to be pretty or dominating, just a W.

Well, I'd be all for that but by then it would be too late to prevent my mid-season bitching.

At some point, a lack of defense catches up with a team (it already has, IMO). It eventually affects the offense due to field position and the point deficit the offense is facing when trying to move the ball.

I'm in now way confident about the MU-NU game; it could go either way. There will likely be lots of scoring which should translate to quite a show. Both teams will step it up big time, as this is the biggest game of the year for both at this point in the season. One thing I guarantee, however, is that Mizzou is very hungry to beat Nebraska. Very hungry. Go to any restaurant in Columbia, or any social event, and this game is on everyone's mind.

Whether this excitement will translate to a good performance on the field is anyone's guess. Yes, we've struggled on defense. Yes, Daniel didn't play well in our last two games. Yeah, we have an annoying habit of letting our opponents back into the ballgames in the third quarter. Believe me, Tiger fans are just as critical of our team's faults and we tend to be doomsdayers.

Here's my take: If MU isn't up by at least 10 points going into halftime, Nebraska is likely to win. Our biggest hope is to score early and often, which is conceivable given your defense. Of course, our defense will have to keep you from scoring as well.

Good luck this Saturday. I know most MU fans are pulling for you, as we want to play the best Nebraska team possible.

“We’ve got to kill these guys,” Brown said. “I just want to kill them. We need to beat ’em by three touchdowns or more.”
Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

If this doesn't motivate the defense, I don't know what will.

Actually the kid did not say that they will beat NU by 30 but rather that they "need to beat NU by 30 points." So, as bulletin board material this one is not so much smack talk as it is a guy who feels the urgency to win and win big. He actually made no prediction.

Still... ours coaches should seize the moment and hopefully motivate our guys simply because the MU kid thinks it is possible.

As to the game itself.... wow, who knows what will happen in that one. I simply hope NU does well and that our fans conduct themselves well whatever the outcome.

I like that attitude. "I want to kill them" that is what our entire team needs. I say put in two backs. Leave them both as backs, like the wishbone. Make this happen in the first quarter. Put the biggest baddest back in with the sole pourpose to head hunt. Make the linebackers look for the hit that will be delivered. make the first thought be about the hits they took earlier and the fact that they are getting beat on and abused. By the fourth quarter they will not want to take anymore of those shots. I like it.

Nice name???.......................PIG? I mean come on that means your parents just hate you from birth. That's okay let him talk and think he's tough. He won't be running his mouth when Purify burns him.

I really do not see bulletin board material.

He stated they needed to win by 2 or 3 tds. Not saying they were going to or that we did not have the ability to stop them.

He wants to win and badly.

He did not knock a player or our team. Just stated what they wanted to do. You can't blame them for having confidence or desire. It is what makes college football guys.

I am going to the game. If any of you are coming down, I will try to get a small tail gate going. Let me know.
