Yes, this is a crazy tangent to go down. And I think I know exactly what you are saying, but let me try to clarify another way. I never said “that is not police brutality” or “that is acceptable police behavior” or even “that is to be expected” in reference to any video I had not seen. So yes, I was commenting only on what I saw. Not on what some may have thought I should’ve saw. I guess some people may comment on things they have not seen. I try really hard not to do that. It’s a good way to end up looking like an a$$. To extend an olive branch, in the name of diplomacy, I think conversation ensued that neither side knew specifically to what the other side was referring. So yeah, I am guilty of that.
God I hate the internet sometimes. These things are so much easier in person. And they get immensely easier when “someone” isn’t trying to bait and trap the prey to score oh so valuable internet win points. (BTW, I am not referring to you). It’s a cute game in small doses but, when it becomes “who you are” and “what you do”, it gets old in a hurry. (Also not referring to you).
I would bet we all have virtually identical ideas as to what constitutes police abuses and brutality and what doesn’t. And I bet they’re all pretty much the same. It’s quite disheartening to see a few people so eager and ready to assume the worst motives of others (me), or to push that narrative for God knows what reason.

I know you didn’t say it was okay or that it wasn’t what it was. What I mean is you made comments about not believing it was unprovoked - that’s all I’m talking about when I say you’re commenting on things you didn’t see or know.
People are just extra frustrated right now and one thing that has run through my mind is if we didn’t have the footage on George Floyd this would be another case where a large group of people would have assumed he provoked the police and his death was self defense or an accident. It’s possible that’s where people are coming from when the benefit of the doubt is given to the police right now.
But I understand where you’re coming from because things can be purposely edited so they’re out of context. E.g. there was a photo going around yesterday of an Omaha police officer giving a Nazi salute. But there was video evidence that showed he was blowing a kiss to the crowd after they had all knelt together.

I also got some friends and we went Covidling around the neighborhood. Not being able to see those faces light up while we sang to them was worth it.

Again, I really want your insight on the situation and have always appreciated your posts. But coming in like the victim, even if in jest, seems to be part of the problem.
