We definitely are a litigious bunch. But I think you get the lawsuits when someone knowingly exposes you to risks you didn't sign up for. If teachers are in the high risk group, or simply decline the daily exposure, I don't know if you can force them to teach. If you don't even attempt to use masks -- the single easiest deterrent -- it hurts your case, for either a future lawsuit or simply getting schools to open this fall. I think right now schools are genuinely trying to do everything they can to soothe students, parents, teachers, and public health officials. Nobody has a good playbook to follow.
