How to embed a Tweet?

Should be easy enough...  I go to the tweet, hit the drop down arrow, click embed Tweet, copy, then try to paste as plain text here and all I get is code.  See below.  Do I need to paste into the link menu?

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">This is the thread where I break down my interpretation and conclusions of how COVID infections work<br><br>I have asked <a href="https://twitter.com/MLevitt_NP2013?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@MLevitt_NP2013</a> his opinion on this analysis and he said it aligns with his thinking<br><br>Long thread coming up<br><br>Appreciate RT if you find it interesting</p>— Gummi Bear (@gummibear737) <a href="https://twitter.com/gummibear737/status/1280547634382606339?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 7, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Nope that didn't work either

Just copy the url from the browser bar and paste that here. Should embed after a few seconds.

All I see is the URL on my side.  Copied and pasted two ways, twice.  Is it showing up as embedded?

No.  You might have to give it a second to process before you click Submit so it loads properly.  Also, if you paste it and there is a message below it that says "Post as plain text instead", you have to click that.

That's probably what's happening. I have to do that sometimes.

I just tested it on my end and this is what it looks like after I paste the URL and then give it a second to load:

@Scarlet Are you doing this on desktop/laptop, tablet or phone?

If able, please do the following:

1) Copy and paste a URL of a Tweet you'd like to post into the reply box in this thread.

2) After posting the link, wait a few seconds to see if any sort of pop up appears in the reply box.

3) Before you click 'Submit Reply,' take a screenshot of the reply box (similar to the one I posted above).

4) Delete the tweet, upload the screenshot and submit that as a reply so we can see what you're seeing.

Phone...will do

Trying on my phone...will do

FWIW I don't know if pasting links with the URL 'mobile.twitter' works or not. Never tried it. I always click the share button on a tweet when I'm on mobile and click 'Copy link to tweet.' Will test below.

Edit - Submitting URL from mobile didn't work at all. So, might only work on desktop/laptop?
