What a crazy, crazy week. Month, really, starting in July:

7/9 - Big Ten announces 2020 season will be conference-only

From then on, we were wondering if there'd even be a season. Then:

8/5 - Big Ten announces a schedule. Hooray - it looks like they'll play!

8/8 - Rumors of a secret meeting canceling the season

8/10 - Frost's public presser in which he passionately pleads to let them play

8/11 - Big Ten postpones all Fall sports

8/11 - later, Nebraska's Admin & Frost announce all options are on the table and they are ready to play

8/12 - Big Ten Commissioner announces there is no option for teams to play

So... is that it? Warren says nobody can play this Fall - but this was just a week after announcing a schedule implying they will play.

Do we have our final answer? Or will something come from the joint statement declaring a desire to play from Nebraska?

I think we calm down and just do what we're told. It was passion speech by Frost and the administration and cooler heads will prevail.  As far as Warren, I have no idea.  It seems that there was some speculation about that ex Florida State player that died last week of a heart attack after having Covid at sometime was what started him thinking.  I don't know if that's a cover story or not.  Seems kind of early to assume that the dealth was due to lingering complications from Covid as it sounds alot like the heartbreak gene- but I don't know that either and the autopsy will be awhile.

Ask the lawyers!   Afterall they generally have the final say (or seem to think so)!

I dont think we have heard anything close to the final jeopardy answer (question more aptly).
them darn lawyers.  You know what they say about lawyers and lightbulbs.

I couldn’t decide between three or four but I think once the Big 12, ACC,SEC start playing and have no positive cases we change our mind and start in October

Ya I could see this too. They are allowing schools to still practice so they could realistically announce mid September "conditions changed" and they are starting October.

This would seem to be predicated on our society rapidly improving our response to containing and mitigating the virus.

Short of another lockdown that's a bad bet. Even that's a band-aid if nothing else changes.

Yes, or major advances in testing/treatments. If they get an accurate test that can generate results in hours instead of days then there is conceivably an ability to guarantee no player plays in a game who is positive and also ensure that players don't bring the virus back to campus after traveling.

Still don't think anyone plays this fall but I don't think the drama is over. B1G won't change their minds though.

I said a long time ago that barring NCAA action, I expect the SEC schools to play football come hell or high water, whether they should or not, and I haven't seen anything to make me change my mind. That's just the way things are in those states.

Maybe but I dunno. Its getting pretty bad. They may try it but I don't see them getting far.
