Tangent Thread - P&R Edition

That was pretty much my original point. Trump has never been brilliant, or really even remedially bright. So his mental decline, which he also has had, doesn’t seem to be such a stark difference. I agree that Joe has tailed off significantly more since his VP days but even now he is much sharper than Trump ever thought of being.

Every time anyone sticks up for Trump’s mental acuity or his character or really anything about him, my faith in humankind is reduced even further. Not to worry though, that faith is pretty much non-existent at this point. He is such a vile idiot my only possible takeaway is that anyone who supports him has to also be an idiot and/or vile person.

I certainly won't defend his character, or his ability to be President. Though, I will argue that he's not dumb. He might be the most prolific con artist in American history. A terrible man. But no dummy.

I am bothered by the work Biden's had on his face. He's 78 years old. His face should reflect that.

It looks like he's wearing a younger Joe Biden mask.

You'd be surprised how many people get Botox these days

I think Trump is much, much closer to his former (peak, I guess?) self than Biden. Trump is still able to speak off the cuff, even if it is ridiculous behavior.... Everything with Biden feels so prepared, and he still struggles at times. I'm rooting for him to hold on to what he's got, though. Not a fan of Harris.
It's prepared because that's what intelligent successful people do. They prepare.

He's not smart. He's literally failed up his whole life. He's just had enough money to have leverage, even over his debtors. Smart people don't have 6 or 7 major buisness bankruptcies.

My brother got (might still) botox for his armpits because of sweating...now...he is terrified of his wife because he married a mean version of our mom but still...

I'm quite familiar with the process. But Biden had a facelift as well as botox.

The combination is off-putting.

I have not ever seen a single case of botox and/or a facelift improving a person's appearance, at least none that I know for a fact were "work". Maybe it's just the famous failures that I know of?

But ya know what, people age, they lose their hair, get wrinkles, sometimes gain weight. So effin what? I'll never understand cosmetic surgery or even wasted attempts at looking younger. Too much vanity for me.

I can somewhat understand it with female actors but that's about it.

I mean I get it if you're a hot 20 something actress and people are telling you to fix your nose or if 30-40ish and just need a little something to hang on to that Hollywood career. I don't like it but I get it. But these advanced age people that do it and ruin themselves (Joan Rivers, Dolly, Kenny Rogers etc.).....why?

Ya I feel like once they're 60 it's just silly. At that point they are not going to get more roles if they do plastic surgery, because it's gonna make them look creepy.

Men have it pretty good as far as aging goes. Just a grow a beard. It has some grey in it? Even better....

I think a lot of it is due to expectation. I think if men wore make up starting in their late teens, or if women didn't wear make up, then older women might be considered more attractive... if that makes sense.

That said a lot of guys look better in their 50s than they did in their 30s.

You're probably right.
