Was originally seen as a OG recruit but has now decided he wants to play defense.

Said USC and Nebraska are the main schools he's talking to.

 
"I really want to visit Nebraska," Simmons said. "I actually have a cousin who lives out there so I could stay with him and then go visit the school. It would be good to walk around the campus and see what I can. It's just a matter of finding the right time to do it so hopefully I can lock that in."

I think we'd be a distant second if USC was more interested. 

Word from the left coast guys is they really aren't sure how interested USC is right now and it's tough to get a read because in past Simmons has occasionally exaggerated interest level and even offers from "bigger programs".

Sounds like USC wants him to play offense but he's decided he wants to play defense.

Another thing he should consider, even if they(USC) switch up and offer him a spot on defense, it can't be too settling that its known publicly that they will fire Helton and his staff when the opportunity presents itself.

 
Would love to have this young man but I just don't see him leaving the west coast. Not sure why :dunno  but when I look at his profile pic I see California thru and thru! USC bound sadly  :bang

Totally could see that, even though I don't think they are the best fit.

Upon looking at his profile, Reggie Bush is a Helix alum so there's that.
