Tangent Thread - P&R Edition

Is this some type of threat? Seeing as how you are not an elected official in my state that makes voting law or part of the county board of elections where I live, how exactly are you gonna make voting “as difficult as possible for me”.  I’m actually quite curious as I’m sure mods on this board probably should be too.

I would be perfectly fine with only vaccinated people allowed in.

However, by fall, anyone who wants a vaccine will have it. I'm of the opinion that once that's the case, the ones who didn't get it, are doing so at their own risk.  At this point, I do not plan to alter the way I live because some people are too spineless to get the vaccine.
Go back to the political forum with this crap

As I understand the conversation, the analogy was pretty clear. @knapplc wasn't literally comparing phones to COVID vaccines. He was comparing the data stored on a phone to the information that would be on a vaccine passport, and drawing comparisons therein. No analogy is perfect. It's an analogy.

You may disagree with the analogy and point he's trying to make but boiling it down to him trying to compare a phone to a COVID vaccine is, in fact, disingenuous... and not what he's doing.

It is this kind of intentionally disingenuous flooding the field that makes conversation here so difficult now. It would be nice if this would not continue.

I have no idea if you are a man or woman or how you identify.  I believe gay marriage is legal in many areas so it isn’t beyond reason to include both.   Though none of that is relevant to the conversation at hand so I don’t no why you brought that up.
you sure do seem to miss all the points.   willfully i assume.

That’s pretty rich.  Now your trying to get someone banned for disagreeing with your statement.
Yeah... you really didn't, though.

Nobody made the blanket statement that a 'phone is analogous to a COVID vaccine'. That's a significantly warped interpretation of what was being discussed. The only two explanations are that you were being intentionally obtuse or you genuinely didn't understand the point he was trying to make. The former explanation is borderline trolling and the latter explanation means you should've sought clarification vs. creating a false narrative.

i would lean towards believing the former rather than the latter in archys case.   but that's your call to make.  i am just a peon here.    :)

Phone data collection is nowhere NEAR the same thing as healthcare collection data and the different laws on the books bear this out.   The analogy made zero sense and had no purpose in the discussion.
