Go ahead and tell us what you think the Trump administration did. Act like a bunch of profit driven companies only made vaccines because of him? All while actively undermining anything that would mitigate the pandemic? We all know Trump famously went on TV to get the vaccine to help convince his cult that it's both safe and a responsible thing to do.

herd immunity depends on enough people getting the vaccine.   there is a large % of the right wing that says they won't take the vaccine.   i hope we have enough to get to herd immunity but there is a chance we won't.

I'm just stating facts. We can discuss how stupid Trump's approach in general was; but in reality neither Trump nor Biden should be taking as much credit as they or the media give them. 

We should be praising the amazing people at agencies like the CDC and FDA, and the scientists at these companies who did an incredible job in an unprecedented amount of time.

I can't believe the lack of foresight here.  Just hold off a few more months and this thing might be under control.  But it could easily go the other way.

Florida has been open for quite some time and is in the bottom half of deaths per million by state while having the second oldest population in the US.  Statistically speaking, FL should be near the top of deaths per 100,000 because of who the virus targets for severe symptoms. 
Texas seems to be doing well so far post Neanderthal thinking opening and is currently right at average for deaths per 100,000 by state.  
 

States in the Northeast have been expanding their reopening but those states didn’t seem to get Dr. Gupta’s attention.  Could be that he has a political narrative to make.

So you've got variants spreading in the US which are more contagious, possibly more deadly, possibly more deadly to young people, and which may render our current vaccines less effective.  We're also breaking even or falling behind in the race between variants vs. vaccines and @Archy1221 thinks it's a good idea for Governors to sans something as simple as a mask mandate this close to possible herd immunity.  Oh wait, Republicans are more likely than others to not get the vaccine making herd immunity a pipedream.

Michigan has some of the highest rates in the country right now, but guess where people having been going on vacation for all of March. Florida.
