Leading by example is a vague statement. If we're talking about the US, leading by example 'might' be true as a general statement (although our withdrawing from plenty of agreements might have a word), but that certainly doesn't mean it's true across the board. Are we leading by example with incentivizing green energy? How about holding oil and gas companies accountable, or even just making progress on the billions in tax subsidies we gift them and incentivize with? Are we leading by example with our urban planning, holding high regard for public transit, walkability and sustainability? How about building standards, fast fashion, overproduction and a whole host of our consumption habits? 

 
I think it is safe to say that everyone and every country could always do more.  I think it is also safe to say that none of us here, even the truest of climate-bros, is doing all they can 100% of the time.
