 You were pretty swift in defending the inaccurate and crazy comparison.  You took it on as your own and it didn’t work.

Or they are happy to be unemployed. Kind of the crux of the conversation.

If they can make that work once extended unemployment runs out, which in some states is happening sooner rather than later,  then great for them.
 

If when they do come back into the workforce, they don’t want to come back to a “$2.13/hr” employment, they don’t have to.  Kinda the point of a free society and supply and demand economics.

Now circle back to all the we can't get anyone to take jobs. Supply and demand have started to balance and it looks like the supply may longer be there. Thanks for coming around, buddy.

 


What is insane about Donovan's answer is that he is an affordable housing developer that was also commissioner of housing and development for NYC for 5 years and the freaking HUD Secretary for another 5. 

How could a career affordable and public housing professional get that question so wrong? It is pathetic.

I didn’t realize every restaurant operated in the state of Nebraska.  Come to the KC area and ask restaurant owners and managers why they can’t fill positions.   You will have a different perspective on the situation.

The conversation started because of something Sasse said. He should be worried about Nebraska and in Nebraska the unemployment rate is low. And restaurants in Omaha are struggling to find help. Which means people found different lines of work...just like you told them to do. Good for them!
