Such a model Christian. Keep it up.

Tell me, what are the model standards for whatever it is you are? Is it Spaghetti Monsterism, atheist, .....? Or do hold yourself to those silly myth filled Christian standards in which you do not believe.....until they’re convenient to use to pass judgement on others?

Such luxury, one set of standards for Christians and none or different or unknown standards for yourself. Hopefully you can appreciate how confusing it is for those of us unfortunate enough to not be knapplc.

At some point in your spiritual journey hopefully you'll learn a person doesn't need to follow some religious dogma to be a good person.

Unfortunately you don't seem to be picking that up as a Christian, so...

Oh and you’re really excelling at it

Your unabashed trampling of your own beliefs makes this a far less "gotcha" than you think it is.

You either don't realize how much damage you're doing to your own argument or you're so hell-bent on trying to stick it to me that you're blind to how you look here.

And all the while I just don't care about your words.

Isn't this board — and the world in general  — full of people raised on a religion, who have grown away from it upon further reflection?

I don't think most atheists and agnostics are of a particular ilk. I think they understand their former churches and scriptures perfectly well.

At this point it's really on the church to do the serious introspection on where they fit in the modern world.

Even as an agnostic, I believe Stephan Curry's pull-up 30 footers are a gift from God, and that Jordan's Bulls would not have been able to shut him down over a 7 game series.

There are no atheists in foxholes...and there are no atheist sports fans.  I think that is the saying, right?  Haha

Currently, yes. Generationally speaking, I imagine that this is shifting to some degree to the point that fewer and fewer people are being raised on a specific religion.

I don't have statistical evidence to back this up, but I imagine the percentage of Boomer and Gen-X parents who raised their children in a religious household is significantly greater than that of Millennials who are now or will soon become parents. And it will continue to drop in future generations. This is certainly true in my anecdotal experience, for whatever that's worth.

As a tangent, I've long positioned that religion should never be a basis for people doing good or bad things. Doing something because "God" or whomever told you to, or because it's what God would want you to do, is an incredibly slippery slope. In my opinion, regardless of your belief system, you can make positive choices just to be a good person. You don't need anybody or any thing to artificially influence that. You can be a Christian and do that. You can be a Muslim and do that. You can be a Hindu and do that. You can be an atheist and do that.

Every single person on this earth is a raging hypocrite at one point or another. And sometimes, we're not very nice to each other either. Doesn't matter what belief system you hold to because that's pretty universal.

Exactly. People are people, some good, some bad, and some either way depending on the day. It doesn’t matter what color, religion, gender, sexual preference or any grouping they might be placed in by others.

I guess this is why broad brush statements and accusations of how good of a Christian a person may or may not be annoy me so much. Knapp acts like I run all over the board bragging about being Christian or stating how they are better than others. I don’t do that and I don’t believe that. Actually some of the worst people I know are or claim to be Christians. Probably why I don’t like being lumped in with them when some of them are doing bad things yet again. On top of that, I don’t believe there is any religion that I totally agree with or completely buy into. But if you ask me what I am, the answer Ill give is Catholic Christian. It just happens to be about the closest thing I know of that hits most of the high points of my beliefs. Ironically, agnostic would also not be too far off base for me as well.

So when somebody pisses me off and starts acting superior and leveling accusations I don’t have any problem not acting very Christian. We all struggle with things and as far as I know there has only been one person to walk this earth who may have been perfect. Ill try to mimic that behavior when its easy and convenient and sometimes when it’s more difficult. However I won’t do it for or because of knapplc.  That guy can go pound sand, until he begins treating people and groups with the respect and benefit of the doubt they deserve.

Sorry, went off a bit there.

Stop cloaking yourself in false righteousness. You're pissed because I reported NUance and teach and you had a conniption.

You have zero idea how bad you look in this, apparently. But by all means, continue...

Dude you are so far off base it’s almost comical. Did I think your bs over teach’s use of Kung Flu was stupid, yes. But a conniption.... I have no interest in sticking up for Teach or NUance. They can deal with you anyway they see fit and I couldn’t care less.

Ive told your dense stupid a$$ numerous times what this is about. I can’t help it that you don’t believe me or choose to think its all about something else. Now go f#¢k yourself.

In my own defense I simply can't imagine a scenario where anyone would care enough about a post of mine being reported to be "pissed"

I can't even imagine anyone caring about anything I post at all.

If I could create another account to rip on my own posts, I would do that.
