Trev Alberts named new Husker AD - 11 a.m. press conference

Trev has done a lot of good things at UNO.  The move to D-1 was the right move for the University, even if it cost the wrestling program (and how it was handled).  He has gotten UNO a new hockey/basketball arena, new baseball and softball stadiums, and has helped make the school a good option for local kids.

I've worked with Trev before. He is a good man. He made a really tough decision at UNO, but a decision he was brought in to make. Strait-laced guy as well, definitely will not have the rumors of him tossing a few back.

BREAKING NEWS:

The University of Nebraska - Lincoln will be shuttering its football program, and moving the facilities and personnel over to support the University of Nebraska's new eSports platform. Memorial Stadium will now become the largest eSports Venue in the world, and recruiting is underway for eSports athletes that excel in Overwatch, Call of Duty, and Street Fighter V. Expansion of the program will eventually bring in DOTA, CounterStrike, and Rainbow Six specialists as well to round out the recruiting class. 

 
Trev Alberts would be a great fit. There was an interview once on ESPN where Mark May is shooting off his mouth that  Nebraska needs to realize they  aren't a power football team anymore.  You could see Trev steaming. "9-3 or 8-4 shouldn't be the expectation, Nebraska to be Nebraska should be fighting for the top spot year after year"

Okay, I get it--your comment read like you were a teetotaler though, so I hope you understand why I got pissed. My apologies. 

I do still stand by my comment that teetotalers are ruining the state, but that's a discussion for elsewhere.

We all realize that ESPN will bring Mark May back just to do the interview with Trev, right?

Mark May is calling Pitt games now (shock of all shocks) so unless he left ESPN on bad terms (he didn't IIRC), I'm saying this is gonna happen.

I agree. Trev brought alcohol to UNO arenas I believe, so that could be interesting. I didn't word my statement correctly. Where Moos is the rancher, man of the people type, more loose type. Trev is more button down, buckle down get things done type.

Yup. And while I was using eSports as a punching bag to lampoon Trev's impending hire (and past actions) with, it *IS* a large growing sport on college campuses. 

Wouldn't be shocked if we stood up our own program here soon, TBH. If we haven't already.
