Did anybody hear Jim Rose apologize for the "bad broadcast"?

He said something to the effect of, "Sorry there weren't more good things to talk about."

Even Jim Rose is blaming himself for our sorry program! I wonder if I also did something wrong. Some of this sh#t has got to be my fault.

I was listening on Sirius Radio from Washington State. Yes I heard that apology. I was surprised by it frankly. Seemed pretty inappropriate. Even my Seattle hippie artist wife who hates football thought so. But it might be his subtle way of telling the big boys that enough is enough.

This game must have been out of control from the beginning. Adrian and Matt were very candid in thier observations about how the team was down and emotionaless. Especially Matt. I think at some point he was ready to go rip the headset off of Callahans head and take over himself.

I heard him apologize more than once, it was almost everytime he said anything negitive about the whole program. You know things are bad when a sportscaster apologizes for everything he says.

Shoot - LAST week at Missouri I thought Davison was actually going to barf when he was being interviewed on TV. He did NOTHING to hide his total contempt and disgust for the current coaching staff - I can't imagine what he was like during the OSU broadcast. It is a nice warm fuzzy feeling to hear all that fire and passion in his voice, even 10 years removed from strapping on the pads, though. Do we have anyone now with that fire? NO, because we have Businessman Bill running the show - the Mr. Spock of football emotion.

I was honestly waiting for Jason Peter to run out on to the field and beat someone down

Not for HC, but I would love to see him on the next staff. Receivers coach would be great. He could bring his energy and enthusiasm for the program. Not to mention it would be a great way of bringing in the "old gaurd". Maybe even get Christian Peter in as D-line coach.

Why apologize for truthfulness?
Yeah, I agree. Although I think they kind of have to apologize given their jobs. It is, indeed, a sad day when Jim Rose apologizes for the broadcast.

I was listening in Boston while watching other football games. They kept showing clips of Okie State running all over Nebraska. I think the media is having fun with our current state, although in one segment Mark May was nicer than his usual "I hate Nebraska" self.

I saw that segment late last night - was surprised Mark May was so nice about it. But being an outsider, all he offered for sacrifice was DC Cosgrove, while the rest of Husker Nation is after Stevie P, Businessman Bill, and the rest.
To be fair, he did sardonically say "It's not going to be Bill Callahan because he just got a big contract extension."
