2021 Coaching Carousel

My guesses would be Berthoud or Johnstown.

I like the buffet lunch and a couple of John Dalys at Nordy's in Loveland though ....just did that last Friday.
Yeah, either of those two would be closer to 30 minutes south of FC.  I'm in the northern Denver suburbs, and my son's school is in the same conference as the FC schools, so I've made that drive quite a bit over the past year.  I-25 between Denver and Ft. Collins pretty much sucks.  There is always construction, and the drivers suck too.  It's the same line of jerks in large pick-up trucks which clog up the left lanes the entire way.

Loveland?

Berthoud.  You guys are all over it.

I'm one of those in a large pick up truck.  I'm with a construction company and do the I-25 corridor from Cheyenne WY to Pueblo Colorado.

I have my favorite places to grab a drink all up and down the corridor

I live west of Denver near Morrison.

Yeah, bad move unless it is a ton more scratch or he just hates Reno (like everyone else)

Think it’s as simple as money, CSU could probably triple his salary. Plus the Reno thing lol

How much did NU spend on their assistant contracts?
What I find funny is we negotiated Frosts buyout down for next year alone to save what? 12.5 mil dollars? We just guaranteed Mickeys contract for 3 years at 600k a year. So we can the staff next year and Mickey still gets 1.2 mil if he isnt retained. I would imagine the other position coaches and OC will be similar. So say your other 2 assistants are around a mil of a buyout so now we are at over 3 mil owed if they arent retained. Then you do the OC which will probably be another 3 mil of guaranteed over 3 years. Now we are saving what? 7ish million bucks by doing this?

Wow, crazy that coaches are getting jettisoned after like 1 bad year and they no longer even wait until the end of the season!  Is Sark next?

The argument that Nebraska is changing our coach too quickly or early now looks silly and is a losing argument.  I am on board on our move to retain Frost. I truly hope he succeeds.  But we could have gone a different direction, each program needs to do what is right for them. Now it is our job to go out and get the best position coaches possible. And yes that means reaching out to the Herman’s and Mullen’s.  If these guys say no and are waiting for another head coaching gig, so be it. But sometimes people get the top job and maybe don’t want it again. They may want to get paid for what they truly are good at and enjoy, coaching QB’s or putting together an offense. Will be interesting to see!
I get why some people wanted Frost fired and I wouldn’t have argued otherwise if he was.

But, this is just stupidity with coaches like Mullen. So, if frost had the same record as him at Nebraska, should Nebraska fire him after a down year?

How would the OC under a failed coaching regime be considered for the head coach if Frost is fired? That doesn't make any sense.
Ask Bo Pelini in 2003.

Chances are the offense actually improves next year (especially if AM returns) and the defense regresses a bit.

Next year is going to be a s#!t show.  Everything will be up for grabs.

edit: never mind.  ADs mustn’t listen to fans…

Why wouldn’t someone like Herman, Mullen or Sark ( if he gets canned) come to be our OC?  If they turn the O around they just set themselves for another crack at a HC gig or at worst, a nice salary.    It’s got to be better than being some lame a$$ analyst somewhere.

Significantly different circumstances between now and 2003. If Frost were able to go 9-3 in the regular season, he would not be getting fired. If NU had a season which would result in Frost's firing, Trev isn't going to turn to the new OC or even Chinander as the next head coach. Trev will want a complete re-set with the next coach.
