This loss feels so much like our football season.  So close against a good team, but fails to close it out for a win.  So close, but yet so far away.

This also feels like the NC State game.  The team showed life and have something to build from.  But, the proof is how they come out and play now in their next game.  Are they going to go back to their old ways and fail miserably, or are they going to build off of it and actually wins some?

 
I deliberately avoided checking the score on the game until I figured it would be close to being over because I assumed Ohio State would win in blowout fashion and I didn't see the need to subject myself to that.  Instead I saw they were up 5 with a minute or so to go and happily clicked over to watch Nebraska close it out.  That....did not happen and then I watched OT.

So it's your fault.  You jinxed them by watching.  Ha ha.

 
I pleasantly watched the game until overtime. As soon as they went to OT I couldn't do it. Right before Lat went to the free throw line to extend the lead, its just that bad feeling you know something is going to go horribly wrong. Turned the tv off, checked that score about 20 minutes or so later and saw they lost. 

 
Late to the party.   Watched this game with the Mrs. And when Mayan got fouled she asked me if I thought he would make them...

I said he'd either miss one or both.  I then told her that ohio state would go down and tie or take the lead.  She asked why I was so certain.  I said, because that's what winning teams do.  

She laughed.

Then after Mayan missed both and liddell hit his first,  she asked me what I thought was going to happen.  I said, he's gonna make it and we're going to overtime.  

Wife says, that's not bad though.  We can win in OT.  I then said...no, we can't. We either have to win in regulation or we'll lose.  

She said, that's dumb.  It's tied, both teams have the same chance to win in overtime.  

I responded with something to the effect of, a team like us has to win in regulation...we can't let it get to overtime, we don't know how to win.

Some day they'll surprise me...some day...

I thought they had a chance in OT if they scored first, when they went down 6 I knew it was over.

Pretty much the conversation my son and I were having, only he was agreeing with me.

 
Sounds like they played an unexpectedly good game.

With Breidenbach out, who would play instead of the Jr Mayan? Should Fr Andre play the whole game?

Seems like we could use a couple bigs who aren’t projects and practice specialists.

Or since our guards have size, should we play four guards?

At the very least he shouldn't be on the "free throw" team at the end of games.  He doesn't seem to handle pressure very well.  It showed in is indecision in making the last pass and his missing both free throws short.
