Just a heads up - I increased HUSKERWANK07's warning level for a personal attack. See HERE. In addition, I PMed him with the same warning - a second violation will result in a temporary ban, a third in a permanent ban.

Drowning tried to talk him down, and given his response, I suspect he's going to post his way right off the Board.

Despite that, I'm going to reply that while I understand how aggravating it can be, it's also something to be expected on an Internet message board, and that our concern is to keep flame wars under lock and key.

I understand it can be aggravating. But it's also to be expected on Internet message boards. Our main concern is that no flame wars erupt - if they aren't controlled, eventually you get a board no one visits. And what we've found is that personal attacks start the flames faster than anything.
Also, we try to provide some tools to members for these situations. If you haven't seen it, the Woodshed is a "free form" forum. If you want to attack someone - or feel the need to respond to them in that way - invite them for a round in the Woodshed.

There is also an Ignore function - you can list members whose posts or posting styles drive you nuts. For details, look for the pinned topic at the top of the Husker Football forum.

Again, I understand how natural it is to jump someone for posting what you think is a smart a$$ remark. I hope you understand why we don't allow it.
