Ex-Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez says Kansas State is 'most talented squad' in career

Nebraska is definitely missing the QB run this season, but I don't miss the bad passes and poor decision making of Martinez.  It sounds like he is playing conservative at K-State so far, which cost them against Tulane, when they had to make a few plays to win.

K-State is trying to primarily move the chains by handing it off to their running backs with a healthy dose of Martinez running zone read and/or option just kind of sprinkled in there.

Adrian was 21/31 against Tulane which is a 67% completion rate, zero INT's. But they just didn't really get their run game going against the Green Wave like they did in their first two games.

I think you're probably right that Martinez "is playing conservative," but I think that's a coaching decision. K-State's offensive identity has been fairly similar to Iowa's for a long time: Don't really take any risks and just try to not make any mistakes.
