Matt Davison leaving UNL

I don’t think that’s rumor. Trev didn’t like Peed running the old NIL, as it was poorly ran. But, Peed had the $ so he held a lot of power. Finally, Trev got the backing of Omaha area and other boosters and was able to pull a power play on Peed. That’s why the new NIL out of Omaha was started and the one ran by Davison is basically Peed.

This doesn't match up with what you said later.

First you said Trev didn't like what Peed was doing.  Then you said he told Peed to start his own.

Maybe I'm missing something.  But I don't think Peed was really involved with the first one.  But his new one is going to have a lot of the same people working for it.

I’ve been trying to keep my posts short because I’m on my phone. Either way, what I heard was that the original NIL funding led by Frost’s buddy was a mess administratively. I thought Peed was a big booster under that NIL group.

So, Trev came in and wanted an improved NIL set up, led by the Omaha boosters.  That left Frost’s buddy out in the cold. Peed may have not wanted to be part of that Omaha group, so he basically started his own, the 1890 group, being run by Davison.

I may not have all the details correct, but there are 2 NIL funds being ran. One led by an Omaha group (Kris Brown) and one led by Peed and Davison.

Can't we all get along??? Former Husker players against each other thats nonsense. Man you know its bad when former Huskers are against each other but should have one goal which is to offer the best nil deal possible.

I think Trev’s issue was how the players were supported during the original NIL. For example, players were just given 1099’s for tax purposes, without any help or education on what to do with them. That’s poor administration.

Peed may have donated some to the previous one.  But I'm pretty sure he didn't really have much say in the operation.

From what I heard, the previous one wasn't being run correctly.  I don't know how that all came to pass but Peed is definitely right in the middle of the new one.

But I thought the Omaha group is a third group.  That will be a separate group that will focus on basketball, iirc.  Peed's 1890 Initative will focus on football and volleyball.

Fair enough. I may not have all the details right.

So poorly ran that it landed Thompson, Grant, Mathis, & Washington. I’ll leave Palmer off the list to be fair because we’ll say that was Mickey’s hand.
There is a difference in making sure enough $ is available for recruiting players and something being ran properly in the back channels and administratively. That’s what I mean by being “run poorly”.
