why would fickell leave a team that just made the CFP in his home state to come coach arguably the worst power 5 team of the last 5 years.

Because a place like Cinci can't just rinse and repeat. He could potentially find himself like Matt Campbell is now. Luke might lose value over time and would certainly lose millions if his team isn't good next year.

Heres my take on fickel, please toss your opion back.  Is being the head coach at cincinniti enough of a resume to get him the ohio st job when it comes open next.  Or does he need a rebuild, or a current p5 school on his resume to pad his stats.

FWIW, lot of local media guys thinking that Leipold signing an extension is a good thing for NU, in that NU probably has it’s man. Leipold May have been waiting for an offer from NU which never came.
