EJ Barthel Hired as Running Backs Coach

I had to dig deep to find some stuff, but he appears to be a huge fan of the running game.  Did good at W&M, was Penn St recruiting coordinator....

Yep. Including Mickey. No coach from a 4 win team is unreplacable. While I think Mickey has a lot to offer the program we can’t be held hostage by ridiculous demands of a 1.5 M assistant coach salary. I’m sorry he did a commendable job but he does not deserve that. Even after MJ took over we lost games we should have won due to poor coaching decisions. I like MJ,I like Busch as well, but this is Rhules team now and he needs free rein. If that means losing players in the short term so be it.

One rhythm Barthel learned under Rhule at Temple is showing daily video clips of his players making “violent effort” plays that lead to wins and “loafing” ones that don’t.

I like it. Daily accountability and showing the picture of what is needed
