Or is the state of emergence declared to speed up the process of actually helping these folks?

Yo boy Desantis declare states of emergency probably one every couple of years.  But yet his followers never use it as evidence of him being a hypocrite about federal spending or climate issues… wonder why… :huh:

Do you know why a Governor would declare a state of emergency for a hurricane?  

Sanctuary state status and natural hurricanes aren’t actually the same type of thing  :rolleyes:

More similar than you and your disciple might think.

When things happen that in the state and it’s not budgeted for, and people need assistance, “states of emergencies” can be declared.  Hurricanes, terroristic attacks, riots, or excess of refugees.

Now my question: is the state asking for help to actually assist these folks? Or for money and busses to send them to Florida and/or Texas?

No need to be offended, unless you are giving an answer you don’t like..

New York claims to want to be a sanctuary city up until the point the city leaders understand the actual scope of the problem.   They talked a pretty big game for years and years until others called their bluff.   Now they are liking it so much when their localities actually feel the impact (which has been minimal compared to TX and AZ standards).

Except.....

If Dianne Feinstein retires, Republicans will not allow a Democrat to replace her on the Judiciary Committee, and Biden won't be able to make a single judicial appointment for the rest of his term -- negating perhaps the most important achievable mission for the party and administration. 

She will be wheeled in comatose or possibly dead for as long as needed.
