project 2025

it's not just Trump.  there is a vast group of Republicans involved in this.  he is just the useful idiot they are pushing

Well not JUST Trump, but I don't think it's happening without him as the mouthpiece and figurehead.

The peaceful transfer of power was always hailed as the bedrock of American democracy, and when Trump chose not to let that happen it opened their eyes to what might be possible: a conservative coup ---- without calling it a coup, of course. The governing Republicans and would-be candidates took their cue from the voters, and the voters seem open to the possibility as long as it's Trump and as long as he's protecting America from the socialist vermin. I don't think most of them dreamed this was even possible a few years ago. There is a 100% chance it will be attempted if Trump wins. Sometimes it feels like the civil war is inevitable.

If Trump goes to prison and Nikki Haley gets the nomination, maybe the fever breaks.

You would have to have your head buried pretty far in the sand to think Trump would not attempt this. It’s maybe one thing for those of us who hate his guts but there has been more than a few defectors from his administration who have said that is definitely his goal if elected again. History shows us he did not want to leave last time with a peaceful transition of power. A person would have to be an idiot to think he wouldn’t get it right with a 2nd try. It’s been his entire message. He’s not running on anything more than retribution of his opponents and to acquire power to himself.

Now do I think it would be completely successful? No. But it certainly would get very ugly dragging his entitled narcissistic a$$ out by force.

Everything being said and done suggests otherwise. Totally believable. Unfortunately possible.

Will he get away with it?

What are you doing to prevent it, other than pretending it could never happen?
I’m re-watching Wall Street right now!  Hoping it helps some.

So you think it’s believable that Trump could get elected for a second term and just never leave?  Like we seriously need to worry about it?

These seem like contradictory statements.  Either you think he will stay President for more than 4 years or you don’t?

Walk me through how that even works.   He states he’s king and the military and all the other branches of government (who loooovveeee their own power) are just gonna say, “Okay sounds good”

I'm 99% sure that had we told you in 2015 the exact things that would happen in the next 8 years, you would have declared us hysterical.

I'll walk you through how it COULD work.

Can you imagine January 6 unfolding with a slightly more loyal Vice-President?

See? It's not that hard.

Not contradictory at all.

Trump attempts to stay in power but democracy and the Constitution end up prevailing. What happens in the interim is where it gets ugly. I haven’t been to DC in quite a few years but if it didn’t get resolved in a week or two, I might even show up for that one.

Did you read that whole Project 2025 deal? IDK if it’s completely true or not but way more people than I’m comfortable with basically have the overthrow of our government planned out. Did you learn nothing from J6 about how far he would attempt to go? Do you really think he wouldn’t try like hell to correct what he didn’t get right the first time?

exactly right.  project 2025 is the f#&%ing blueprint they are going to follow this time.

Like what?  That he would lose, cry and whine about it, challenge it in court, and eventually leave because he had to had to?  OK.

You are a little right in that I didn’t expect him to go as crazy as he has since leaving the WH

Let me straight up ask you, do you honestly believe Trump could win the election and just stay President/King/Emperor after his four years is up?   Is that something you literally worry about?   Or do you just worry about him being President for another four years?
