Some buddies and I are leaving Friday to go up by Deadwood SD to play a course called Boulder Canyon. It doesn't look like a super tough course, but it should be a good time. Pretty sure we will be running in to Deadwood for a bit as well. Has anyone here ever played the course?

Played it a couple years ago while in the area for a conference. Nice track. You will enjoy it.

If you have time, get in a round at Elkhorn Ridge as well. It is not far, by Spearfish, and really great views.

Never played it.  But, the area is gorgeous, so I'm assuming the views from the course will be great.

Lucky enough to play Landmand yesterday. Is now in my top 5 courses that I have been fortunate enough to play. Tough but awesome condition.

My one negative is that some of the greens are so large it makes them virtually unplayable if you hit your approach in the wrong place.

If you get a chance...go.

It's on my list of courses to play and I have someone who says he can get me on.  Just haven't got there yet.

I guess with approach shots...you have to make the shot that's needed.  But, I'm one that if I have a very long put, I wish I was actually chipping.

I’ve been thinking about this more.

My favorite type of courses are ones that you have to make the shot. Ok, you’re 160 yards out and you really gotta think about where you want it and there’s risk and reward. Sounds like this course is like that.

It is very much like that. It would help to play it more than once. When you are below the hole, and only see the top of the flag, but mis#!t your approach to the wrong part of the green and see it leaves a virtually impossible putt...it's frustrating. My son called 4 or 5 of the greens "gimmicky".

Don't get me wrong, I loved it. The whole experience.
