It's been a weird vice-presidency from Day One. Many if not most people thing Kamala's been misused or just unused. If she was just chosen for optics, ignoring that she was not even charismatic enough to make it to the primary, that's on the Dems and Biden and might explain why her role and visibility were so limited.

But what got Kamala to the table was her on-camera performances grilling Republicans, where her experience as a high-profile prosecutor came through. She's not a novice at this, and playing to her prosecutor side could work.
I agree and like I said, what the D party has done to/with her since she has been VP is criminal.

First black female VP and they hide her?  She should have already visited 1,000 HS's in America, talking to girls, taking questions from them, getting them to go register to vote.  She should have had a weekly Podcast with college girls from different colleges around the country, talking about ideas and policy.

A student at my school wrote her a letter and Harris wrote back, it was actually hand written from the VP.  The student framed it and was in awe.

The D's totally wasted her for no reason.

Here's how it could work for everybody:

A handful of longtime Biden supporters and enablers, including, let's say, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Jill Biden, some key Democrats up for election and maybe a pollster or two, sit down with Joe and give him the lay of the land. It may come counter to what his inner circle has been telling him, including the strong likelihood he will lose to Donald Trump and damage Democrats down ticket chances. It would also include a frank discussion of the debate performance, and call into question how the inner circle has been protecting him for months, and that supporters and donors are feeling betrayed by that. If Joe stays in, it would be a white knuckle ride for the next four months with incredible pressure and scrutiny at every turn. Even if he wins they would face legitimate concern for the next four years and constant 25th Amendment challenges. You remind him that the Trump camp prefers Biden stay in the race,

It's not fair to Joe's accomplishments as President, legacy as a Democrat, or the primary process, but there we are.

How could you flip that instantly?

Joe steps aside -- soon -- and gives his full endorsement of Kamala Harris: the historic vice-president he chose for this very purpose. It is with sadness for a job he wanted to finish. But then again, he's not finished. The Joe Biden who is not running is now free to fulfill his presidential demands and a more relaxed slate of campaign appearances, where he will tout the living f#&% out of what the Biden/Harris administration did for America. With the pressure off he will make fewer gaffes. When he makes a gaffe, who cares? This is why we're running with younger sharper Kamala and the new VP who brings energy, demographics, a swing state and fresh donations.

Suddenly the s#!t show of the last two weeks disappears. The feeling across the board is......relief. Even Joe recognizes the advantages and the crazy loyalists who are spamming X can change the narrative to Joe's heroic sacrifice, the cementing of his legacy, and his much easier duties advising Harris/Cena on the nuances of foreign policy --- his strong suit.

Joe is given the keynote speech at the DNC's opening night and is greeted with a standing ovation.  Biden has not been betrayed. This is simply the way it was supposed to be.

As pie-eyed as this might sound, it's also highly plausible.

It's entirely possible Kamala has been doing stuff like this and it just didn't crack the news cycle.

I don't remember a damn thing Mike Pence did for that matter.

Joe Biden, d!(k Cheney, and Al Gore were out front VPs with their own initiatives and profiles, and were considered inner circle advisors.

Mike Pence did not have enough RAM to go out and do stuff.  That guy is clearly not a human.  I saw better acting by the Mannequin  in the movie Mannequin, staring Andrew McCarthy.

I always considered Mike the poor man's Race Bannon from Johny Quest

WSJ: Biden Has 100 Million Reasons to Stay In

Democrats are in a panic. President Biden’s disastrous debate performance has members of his own party debating whether and how to move him off the ticket. The more important question might be when.
Campaign finance rules create an incentive for Mr. Biden to stay in the race through the Democratic National Convention in August. At that point, but not before, Mr. Biden would be able to transfer his campaign’s anticipated $100 million war chest to Vice President Kamala Harris, assuming that she, too, is still on the ticket.

Here's how it could work

Or, everyone could just stop flipping out and vote for the incumbent, and if that incumbent doesn't survive the next four years the VP takes over.

Like we planned for literally the life of this country.

But hey, no, let's just toss all that to the wind and hope some pie/sky plan dreamt up in the last two weeks will work.

Yep!

Hardcore D's are going insane and are literally killing the chances for them to win.

Which shows an amazing display of stupidness.  Of course, "we" can't say that, not yet, we have to pretend like it is okay but it isn't.  And those people that want to get rid of Joe for some other D need to be called out for being stupid.

Yeah Biden has been cooking the last few days. Hopefully you bet on him teach because if anyone tells him to step down after tonight in Michigan, it will be political suicide.
I did...but your party is trying to get rid of him and according to the odds, it is working

We have many posters here that are against him.

I mean, Biden is losing massively. With the partisan tilt of the country, it's unlikely he could be doing worse that much worse. The floor for any Presidential candidates in today's politics is like 47.5%. Biden is going to get absolutely demolished in November.

The people who have watched Joe Biden today are already voting for him, they're already baked into his (record low) approval ratings.

Biden isn't going to suddenly make Americans unconcerned about his age, overcome 37% approval ratings, and overcome the systemic disadvantage he faces in the Electoral College.

I want him to drop out now because I want Democrats to win. Biden was in a weak position before the debate, and now his chances after the debate are near 0%.

No amount of press conferences, political rallies, or anything of the like is going to make America unsee the debate.
