Seriously, this poll has been up for months and there hasn't been a single vote for Trump.

The day after the assassination attempt, Trump has three fresh votes.

Did the event somehow galvanize the previously undecided?

Or did it attract Trump supporters to visit a Politics & Religion thread they typically avoid?

It's obvious it's been JD "Trump is America's Hitler" Vance for sometime.

By throwing all forms of dignity out the window in a show of Trump loyalty, he's been given the nod. From an electoral standpoint, it's somewhat of a weak selection since Vance represents voters already solidly in the Trump base. But he's such an overwhelming favorite to win in November that weakness probably won't matter.

I've heard zero chatter about Ben Carson since he sleptwalked through his cabinet position. What made you dredge him up?
I bet with a friend, we share an account, he liked it mostly because of the odds.  Kind of a long shot but still a big name.

This was like 2 months ago, Some of the guys that seem to be in the race now were not even on the list back then.

Trump will throw a curve ball - JD is his pre-shooting pick.   If he tore up his 'red meat' nomination speech as reported and want to strike a more conciliatory tone after the shooting - it will be Tim Scott or Nikki IMHO

I'm amazed that anyone thinks Kamala Harris has even a snowballs chance in hell against Trump. Biden at least has a shot. People seem to forget that the #1 quality of every winning candidate for decades now is charisma, and Harris is uncharismatic.

Also, polling is not voting. Neither candidate can be winning or losing because the voting hasn't started. Polls are more like pre-season Vegas odds - like firing your coach just before the season based on the Vegas lines.

It was just announced, it's JD Vance.

I thought this was easy to predict because Trumpism isn't exactly a complicated political ideology. It's made up culture war grievance, and Trump rewards those who show loyalty, particularly loyalty given at the cost of personal embarrassment.

Now, Trump supporters are going to trip over themselves to explain the honest remarks Vance made about Trump years ago. It's pretty funny, honestly.

I believe that if the election were last week, Biden wins by a slim margin.  Now, if the election were this week, Trump wins by a slim margin.

I'm at the point of, the election is whatever it is. If Trump wins, America got what it deserves and the next 4 years will be disastrous for us both domestically and internationally.  I can't do anything about that other than my one vote, and it hasn't changed.....and in Nebraska, it means nothing.

I'm not for changing from Biden at this point.  Democrats need to get through this election the best they can.  If Biden wins...well, I'll be glad it's not Trump.  If Biden loses, we know we will have a whole new slate of candidates 4 years from now.  I just hope both parties (and America) learns from this pathetic election.

nuts - he was the last on my list.   But as you say, predictable.   Well practically every GOPer would have to explain their previous comments on Trump if they were to be the VP candidate.
