Dylan Raiola

Also, is he giving a hang loose there?

Start what?

The lawn mower. Gotta get ready for natural grass in Memorial Stadium!

From what I've heard, Ervin might the first snap week 1, but that's a 'don't read too much into it' thing. Rahmir might be looking the best in camp overall, but with a little more experience Emmett might overtake them both.

man this is terrible.  You have two home grown kids playing QB and you decide to play the kid from AZ/GA.  come on man

Dude changed high schools 16 times, no way he stays here for more than a month. One sniff of controversy/adversity and he’ll be gone. Also, eventually someone will realize he’s 30.

(I don’t usually add a sarcasm tag but this is my version of what basically what every non-Husker fan says on YouTube).

non-husker fans are dumb

was there a press conference I missed?  I see all these videos of people reporting it but don't see a press conference

It was announced from the official Nebraska Football Twitter account.

I like it that Rhule did it this way.  It gets announced while not creating even more of a dramatic hype machine around it.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise (not)

ESPN.com Top Headline ....

Nebraska names touted true freshman Dylan Raiola starting QB - ESPN

Next, waiting for depth chart.

RB1 ??  Or Huskers four horsemen !!! (at the same time)

Meh...they weren't that good.  Nebraska beat them.

or Oregon transfer (Dowdell)

Haven't heard anything about him being the #1 guy, but sounds like he's solid overall, and the kind of dude who likes to run defenders over.

It feels like we should be OK for depth at RB, with several viable options. What I don't know is if we have a guy who's gonna step up and be the kinda dude we haven't really had since the Pelini era.

Agreed. I don't think this season has "great run blocking" written all over it personally, so it honestly will kind of suck if we don't have a back that can really make something out of nothing.

We'll see. I'd love to see one of our backs have a 100 yard rushing day against UTEP.

Agreed that we won't see 'great run blocking', but I think if we can stay healthy, we'll see 'pretty good run blocking'. Like 'solidly Big Ten average, and maybe a bit above that'. Ohio State and Iowa are likely the only teams that will really give the OL a major challenge.

But that could certainly change in a hurry with an injury or two, especially at OT.

As far as RBs who can make something out of nothing, Ervin might be last on that list from what I gather. Which might be why there was talk about him maybe getting the week 1 start, but not later on...

Dedrick Mills clone ??

Not a pure bruiser type, muscular but balanced. Decent in the passing game, might be a 3rd down guy. TBH though, the overall level of chatter around him seems to be lower than the others - he might be #4 right now.

That said, just looking at what we've got, I pretty much expect RB by committee - you'll see a bit of everybody.
