It doesn't help that this is a terrible match up for NU.

NU is built to stop the run, eat clock and throw the ball to big tall WR's for 5-10 yards.

CU doesn't care about running the ball

CU doesn't care about eating clock

If NU gets down in the game by two scores, it is over.  The dam will break and NU will show again it is not ready for a big game.

If NU gets up, well, CU can still come back, but if NU can get up and impose their will...This could be a beat down.
So CU could win in a blowout or a close game. And NU could win in a close game or blowout.

Got it!

If Pat Forde (and teach :P ) can be considered “experts”, I guess I can give my take.

The last 10 years has nothing to do with tomorrow. Nebraska’s defense is better than it has been in any of those years. Fact. And based on all available information, our offense is also better than at any time in those ten years. We now have a more than viable QB. Fact. I will give them Shedeur, Hunter and Horn. Those guys are dudes. But as a team they don’t have much else to offer. They can’t run the ball on us. Fact. They won’t stop us from running the ball. Fact. CU will be one dimensional with their passing game. Yeah, they’ll get a few chunk plays but I think Tony White has proven he’ll have a plan for them. NU gave them no film with our D against UTEP. Blitzing wasn’t omitted in that game by accident.

This game comes down to blowhard flash and hype vs hard work and substance and hopefully the loudest and most hostile environment ever in Memorial Stadium. I see absolutely no scenario where the Huskers don’t win this game by at least 3 scores.

This is only true if the curse is gone!
People love to say the last decade had nothing to do with tomorrow, but it totally does.  If we were to get down by 14, every single fan is going to be thinking "here we go again" until proven otherwise.  You can't just pretend the mental side doesn't exist, it does.  The team is better physically, but we don't know mentally yet.

Can they overcome a big deficit? Sure, but there is no bet on it from me until it actually happens.

I hate to break it to everybody but “the curse” is not a real thing. There are very evident reasons we’ve had the results we’ve had. The curse is just an excuse that lets poor decisions off the hook.
Curses can be self fulfilling prophecies.  Beliving something and letting it affect performance, makes it real.  It's not a curse, but everything that has happened affects the psyche of all involved and just causes more of the same.  You can't argue that, it's happened over and over.  This game could be huge momentum for this program, but it could also be the giant letdown that brings us right back where we've been.

I think the more "real" thing that would impact this (but should also impact Colorado) is we have a team of players that have never had a winning college football season. They don't know what it's like to win. One thing I really liked with the UTEP game is they didn't let up after halftime. They didn't score a lot more but the #1 offense scored a TD on the first 2nd half drive, which enabled the backups to get in.

Oh, and I'm guilty of having the "here we go again" attitude last week when UTEP tied us 7-7 then we fumbled. But the players said f#&% that.

I like that you were able to take a shot at me in your review!  Ha

I am rooting for the Huskers but I just have a bad feeling.

But the stadium will be insane tomorrow.  Most of those CU guys will have never played in front of 90K.

Exactly.   They handled their business, but against UTEP with a new coach. We have beaten some G5 schools in previous years, it's the actual P4 competition where we've had the letdown. I'll believe a lot more if we do the same against CU and win by 30.  Full kool aid train ahead. But if we find ourselves down a couple scores in the first half, it'll be real hard for me to believe this is anything different.

Either way I'm excited to find out! Ask me tomorrow at about 10 pm though.

I agree, but we’ve also looked not great against the UTEPs of the world too. LA Tech is in the same conference and had the same record last year and we didn’t look great against them. We were up 14-7 to start the 4th quarter.

It wasn’t a “shot”….at you anyway. Now Pat Forde, he’s a douche.

I may or may not have a 5 gallon Coleman drink cooler full of red Kool-Aid. Well, it was full….

Autzen only holds 50,000. Same as Folsom.
