The Israel-Hamas War

Could you text on that?

The only site I could find that picture on was some weird economic blog, and wasn't related to those phones at all, but those look like 1980s phones to me, not early 90s phones. Early 90s phones were maybe half that size. SMS phone-to-phone texting wasn't available in the 1980s, so I'm pretty sure those couldn't have sent or received texts.

I think the first SMS i got was in 2023?  On my bad a$$ Nokia cell phone!

I came home from work and looked at my phone, back then I just left it at home during the day.  I saw "SMS" with maybe a picture of an envelope?

I remember being totally caught off guard and thinking "Yeah, this will never catch on"

it's been a long road to get to todays cell phone.   here are some from 30 years ago
Sad thing is, I owned phones very similar to both.

Just last year?

They need to open up a big can of, "get the hell over it!"
There's some valid criticisms from a humanitarian point of view. If the shoe was on the other foot this would be considered a terrorist attack of significant proportions. I'll reserve judgement until we know how many of the casualties were militants and how many were civilians. We know an 8 year old girl died though.
