There are many many more examples like this where it’s easy to say “well just rely on your insurance carrier that you carefully selected” yet the carefully selected insurance carrier pulls out some bulls#!t excuse not to pay and is wiling to fight the claimant while the claimant has limited to no money to fight for their claims.They could choose to play it safe, not place themselves in a dangerous situation and rely on the insurance company (that they should have carefully selected for such an eventuality). One situation is unexpectedly thrust upon them and one they have chosen to place themselves in harms way to defend their assets. Again, fine, but I wouldn’t do it with my business. I have confidence in my insurance and I don’t need to be playing hero for something that doesn’t need to be life threatening.

Sure, that can happen. I guess it depends what some people value more.
