Just read that NU is 100th in sacks allowed this year. 4th game with 3 or more sacks. Raiola QBR rating was like 10.5.....Satt can't help himself and calls passes when running was working. Perfect example from an article by Shatel: You can't make this up. The whole idea that Satt needs more time or is learning is BS. THIS IS WHO HE IS. THIS IS WHAT HE DOES. Send this guy packing.
Maddening is the word to describe NU offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield. Twice, he was given a road map to get back in the game and took his own detour.
The first time came after the UCLA pick-six. Perhaps to settle down Raiola, NU ran the ball for four, 11, seven, four, three and two yards on consecutive plays where it faced a third-and-five on the UCLA 44.
Nebraska used three different running backs in the sequence. It didn’t take much to imagine NU getting those five yards in two plays.
Instead a pass was called and Raiola completed a two-yard pass to Jahmal Banks that had no chance to get the first down.
On fourth-and-three, another pass was dialed up and this one was incomplete.
Later, Raiola hit a big pass to Isaiah Neyor for 37 yards, but the run game took NU to the UCLA 5-yard-line for second-and-five.
Next up? You guessed it. Three straight passes, one after a time out, including a 10-yard sack on fourth down at the 5.
