Dylan Raiola

Don't disagree.  Especially the part of him being a heck of a player and glad he's here.

I saw a report saying that his ankle sprain happened in practice back in September and reaggravated it in the Illinois game.  It's been affecting his footwork.  The same report said he's doing a lot better this week, so I guess we will see.

If true, an ankle sprain is no fun playing sport.  Glad he's doing better, we need him.  We really, really need him.

I didn't listen to any post game stuff.  I was too disgusted.

But, was there any comments on Dylan's injury?

I didn't hear much about the injury but could tell from Dylan's body language in the post-game that he appears to be defeated.  It's crazy how much of a high that he and the team was on after the Colorado game to where they are now.  I would be shocked if Dylan does not enter the portal given how this season is going.

Nothing alarming on the tests, so he's expected to play against USC.

I think that's a leap. I am sure he'll want to talk to Rhule about the plan for the offense moving forward, but if it was about winning right away he would have gone somewhere else from the start. He looked defeated because he was in a lot of pain and we played really poorly. I would be more alarmed if he was totally checked out and looked unfazed at the end of the game.

He expressed frustration at he team not being able to win.  He owns a part of that, but its the overall program that is not winning, and he is the type of guy that wants to compete for championships.  If he doesn't believe Rhule will get him to a championship opportunity, I don't see why he would stay unless he feels a family obligation to stick around. From a pure development standpoint, there is nothing about Raiola's game that has gotten better as the season has progressed.  While he owns some of that, he signed up to play at Nebraska with an expectation that this staff would groom him and make him better.

Right, so if at the end of the year Rhule says "hey we really believe in how we're doing this, and we're going to run it back with the same group" I could see Raiola move on. But if there is any kind of reasonable plan for changes, I expect him to stick around.

In Rhule's press conference today he appears to be defending Satterfield.  In reality he needs to put his staff on notice.  I can see Raiola staying if he is excited about new coaches coming in, but if Rhule picks more duds then Raiola may be out the door.  Ironically a big part of our offensive issues tied back to Donovan Raiola who I felt should have been let go after last season.  I believe Rhule kept him in hopes of landing Dylan.  Maybe we can find a marginal role for Donovan and bring in a real O-line coach.

That was about as close as one can get to calling out his coaches, including himself.  Without directly saying "they are on the hot seat"

We very much have another Adrian Martinez situation here.  We all know how that ended.

I was never super high on Adrian and there's red flags for me with DR.  But he needs to be given a chance.  We keep doing the same crap and he's not going to get that chance.  I hope there's plans in place.  We've seen what he can do and the guy's making Millions need to do what they are paid to do.

I can give him a pass on the pick 6 for being a freshman. It wasn't smart, but the defender dropped back into the coverage and made a good play. A Jr or Sr would have saw that but he's obviously not there yet.
