We out-earned Iowa by $70 million in 2023, and we had a $13 million surplus vs. a $7 million surplus for Iowa. I think we’re okay. We just like to meet new people and pay them lots of $ because we’re friendly.

And this is what annoys me about Iowa, you’re perfectly content to wallow in mediocrity. Sure you’ve been better than Nebraska for the last 10-15 years but you’ve achieved nothing yet embrace it as good enough.  I guess that’ll happen when you’ve never known better days. Watching Curling is a thousand times more exciting than watching a Ferentz Hawkeye offense. Maybe you should’ve been paying some buyout money also.

Truer words have never been spoken! The Iowa offense has been boring as hell, but lets stack up wins and losses. Do we want exciting or do we want wins??? It is amazing that we have had the bit of success that we have. Cade was definitely a dud and was left in way to long. Iowa has had 2 coaches since about 1980. Two caches in 45 years! Hayden probably hung on a few years too long also. It woudl have worked out well if Brian F could have run an offense, but we all know how that worked out!

The university doesn’t have to back the coaches against unsubstantiated claims. Pat F is dismissing unsubstantiated accusations without the university money you are referencing. Sounds like there is more guilt in Iowa than you like to admit.

I’m an outlier here. I was alive, watched and remember our 5 nattys. Lots of people hereabouts were happy with Pelini’s 9 wins and think we should’ve kept him. And let’s be honest that is just Ferentz level on his best years. I don’t share that sentiment. Yes, winning 9 is better than not making a bowl but it’s all just kissing your sister (something Iowegans are familiar with) until you’re winning conference and national championships. I really see no difference in winning 5 or 6 or 9 games except you’re a bit happier 3-4x a year

I honestly know nothing about Iowa football. I couldn’t identify Hayden Fry in a lineup and have no idea how many Rose Bowls they ever won.  All that I can really remember is that we once fired a coach after beating them, and that they were called the ‘fake ID of college football’ at their most recent high water mark.  
 

I am however very impressed with @CyHawk for knowing offhand so much Nebraska football history. Dude is an absolute wealth of information on everything the program has done the past 40 years it seems. Hell, I bet some of our most ardent graybeards can’t recall the numbers, results, anecdotes, etc that this guy can rattle off without hesitation.  Some might call him a troll. I call him a great fan of all things Huskers. 
 

He’s alright in my book. Hope he stays.

Hey! I love watching curling. But I also enjoy watching Iowa not play offense well, so maybe it's me.

How about Christian Peter?

But it was Christian Peter, an outstanding, 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive tackle from New Jersey who further sullied the program’s image.

Peter was arrested five times from 1991 through ‘93 for exposing himself to a female student, urinating in public and failing to comply with a police officer’s orders, among other indiscretions. Despite the problems, Osborne played Peter because the tackle met his requirements after each incident.

Are you kidding me?  Ask him about Rich Glover or Jerry Tagge or Todd Frain…all Iowa fans know about Nebraska history is that it’s a state with lots of Cranes in it.  If they drive past Omaha they have to turn around because they’re afraid they will fall off the edge of the earth…
