Nebraska captains refuse to shake Iowa captains’ hands?

Personally, I would not mind it if Iowa plants their flag on our field. They have owned us over the past decade and our coaches and players have allowed that to happen. After all these losses, if your team is not motivated to win and stop the bleeding then why are you upset if the opponent celebrates owning you. If you don’t like an opponent to plant their flag on your field, man up, grow a pair, and play like you care about Husker football and your home. Otherwise, stop whining about it. And stop acting like a tough guy when you know you will piss your pants on the final drive.

For me, for some reason, finishing 6-6 and losing the way we did yesterday to Iowa does not feel any better than finishing 5-7 last year. The only good thing are the extra practices we will get but, for some reason, I doubt we will come out and play like heroes in our bowl game. Rhule has not shown any skills in developing players.

I’m just catching up with this, but I’m seeing the players were upset they couldn’t pray publicly for the world to see so they refused to shake hands?

Really?

What kind of fake Christian posers are on this team.  Learn some graciousness, dang…

It’s stupid. Multiple teams across multiple years have been annoyed that Nebraska comes to the middle of their field and does this. This tells me Nebraska is the only team that does it. So maybe get the hint already and do it somewhere else, like the 25 yard line.

Teams should know how to both win and lose with class. To a degree, said teams get what they get on the field or in the media if they can't do either or both.

But you’re trying to make it sound worse than it is. It’s not that big of a deal. It’s not like they whipped their dangles out, peed on the logo, mooned the crowd, then held the mascot down and took a dump on him.
I mean...if it was Lil Red, would we reeeeally be all that upset?

I don’t want anyone to get hurt but I wouldn’t mind if someone poked it with a needle and then it flew into outer space like a cartoon balloon. Georgia has one of these mascots too but it’s not a giant creepy baby. It’s another bulldog. I mean I guess a giant ear of corn wouldn’t have been good either.

I agree with you. The Nebraska Huskers, both fans and players, have always took pride in the fact that we are classy and above stupid drama. We used to let our play on the field do the talking. While the fans have continued to be classy and supportive of their team, I do not think the players understand Husker pride or else we would not be dedicating an entire thread talking this to death. My point is this, if you don’t like the opponent disrespecting you, show them through your actions on the field. Don’t resort to being petty and childish when you can’t back it up with some solid play. We have Husker pride and we should maintain that win or lose. If we start drama then we are no better than Iowa, Michigan or Ohio state fans. At the least, let us hold ourselves to better gamesmanship standards since our results on the field are subpar at best.

What’s a “though guy”?

Anyway, It’s admirable he played in the NFL.  Last I checked, he is currently a college football coach though 🤷‍♂️  Why wouldn’t he stand behind his tweet then?   Obviously he knows he is wrong posting that in the job position he is in so what’s your flex here?

I'm not flexing anything. I'm not the keyboard warrior here getting my panties in a twist and trying to call out NFL nose tackles about a handshake with our rival. People really grasp for everything after a loss like that it's crazy to see the inconsequential things people cry about after. Did the Dline not play well this game?

Totally burned you though on your typo.  Hard to come back from that one.

Maybe it's past time to stop being nebraska nice in our football program.  It was endearing when we were boatracing everyone.

Those days are long gone...maybe it's long past time we get a back bone and stop being okay with being a doormat.

I say bring on the public enemy status...
