We are #104 is average yards allowed on kick off returns.  #105 in total kickoff return yards allowed.

And, since I know you're curious, we're #113 in average punt return yards allowed.  And #124 in total punt return yards allowed.

Other than that, our return and coverage units are killing it.

57. I hope I’m wrong but I won’t be surprised if MR keeps EF. They’ve been together off and on (mostly on) since 2008.  Has anyone pulled together career stats on EF’s special teams?

I'll probably give up on Rhule ever being a decent coach here if he doesn't get rid of him before next season. That would tell me he either doesn't think ST is important or that good coaching can fix it.

 
Two things have hurt this team for the past decade and they have not been corrected ever. I have pointed these two on so many occasions. Almost every what did we learn post. 
(1) undisciplined play including untimely penalties, ridiculous amount of false starts, and personal fouls. This has not been corrected by any coach since Pelini and has led to many losses because it killed drives or caused opponents to keep their drives alive and then score.

(2) atrocious and laughable Special Teams play or rather anything but special teams play. Arguably, we are the worst power 4 team in terms of special teams. Our special teams give the word “special” a horrible taste.

Both these issues are on coaches 100%. Foley must have incriminating evidence on Rhule because there is no other reason to explain why he keeps drawing a salary til now. At this point, you can get a random fan from the stands and they can do a better job than Foley. Saying he is ineffective is the understatement of the millennium.

I've said again and again, including in this thread, that having no coach would be better than having Foley, and they may as well have just promoted Maher (I think I may have mistakenly said Brown) back in October and seen what would happen.

This is where I am at.  And why I'm still pissed Frank got fired.  Frank, advised to fire staff or get fired IIRC.  He cleaned house, got Bo and was still fired going from 7-7 to 10-3.  Frank saw (or was advised) the need to make changes.  If Rhule keeps the staff intact, I'll feel that he doesn't "get it" and never will.  Unsure whose idea it was to get Dana to come in or Snow.  Although Dana seems to be all N and Snow just remote..

Frank was fired over 20 years ago. Probably time to let it go and stop being pissed about it.

In a completely different era of expectations than Frank coached, if Rhule makes changes and improves from 6-6 to 9-3 he’ll likely get a contract extension.
