Haha yes we know our sh*t here!

Sounds like DH 1st decision as the OC was firing Mcquire. Im hoping Mozee gets a promotion to WR or TE coach.
Im hearing he might take over TEs and Satt is headed back east to be with his wife and kids.
I'm confused. Do we want coaches "learning on the job" or do we want "experienced" coaches?
With unlimited coaching staff, no reason Mozee can't continue to be a recruiting guy. From just this year, he seems to be great at it. And then we can go hire an actual WR coach with a pedigree.
That’s perfectly acceptable. Dude just wasn’t ready.Sounding like if he wants to stay it could be a in an analyst/recruiting role.
These are 2 guys who worked with Dana before who have actual WR coaching chops:
Daikiel Shorts - WR Coach, Kentucky
- Played for Holgo at WV
- WR coach for Holgo at Houston
- 30 years old, fits what Rhule wants for young assistants
Lonnie Galloway - AHC/WR Coach, North Carolina
- WR coach for Holgo at WV
- Mack Brown fired, so probably looking for a job
Fine with me. He's young, he'll learn and hopefully grow into a quality coach someday. He just didn't have the background and experience to be a good position coach yet.Garret McGuire is reportedly reassigned. Sounds like he is staying at NE!
I think Matt Rhule was sure when he hired McGuire as the wr coach that he could handle it. The problem I see is that he can't go into a recruits home and tell them come here I will make you better bc there isn't anything he can point to show them that he can/could. I also think that maybe McGuire shouldn't be coaching wr's and maybe try his hand at a different position like coaching qb's. Just don't think what he was teaching resonated to the wr's.I agree, but the reason to make Mozee the WR coach could be another team is willing to do so and we don't want to lose him. I'm all for up and coming young coaches, but the problem with McGuire was he just wasn't ready. No one was going to offer him a job as a WR coach, so we should have hired him in some other capacity first and let him work up to it if he could. And we probably would have if the no limits coaching staff was a thing when Rhule was first putting it together.
I don't have a problem being the first team to promote a guy into a role, but if no other program is even considering it you better be really sure they can handle it. I think other programs would potentially hire Mozee as a WR coach, but I agree if he's happy in the recruiting role I'd do that and hire another WR coach. I wouldn't mind McGuire staying in some capacity, just needs to be a smaller role.
