New DC

I don't think Rhule had time to wait to hire a DC. With players leaving he had to make a statement good or bad.

I'd rather wait and see cause what people have done at other programs means nothing. We should know that by now when we look at recent hires such as Frost or even Fickel at Wisconsin.

First, I simply expressed concern, and explained why.  There's a huge difference between coaching scheme and game plan and coaching technique and fundamentals.  

To your question, not necessarily, but it certainly helps.  Theory vs real world experience.    

Lastly, IMO, the most unique positions to coach are interior D-Line and ILB.  These players read keys, fight blocks, and play blind.  They are the 2 positions on the field I don't feel confident giving coaching points to because I have zero relatable experience.  I hope Bradden is a home run hire, but running drills in the NFL with players is not the same as teaching them.

I am not sure if "doesn't care" is the right word. It simply felt like a safe and lazy pick.  It does not appear that Rhule had the mindset of going out to find the best available DC and pushing the AD to pay up to get such a DC.

It might be a good time to admit most of us (myself included) don’t know $4!+ about these things.

We have no idea how Butler will

do it just wasn’t Leonhard which is one of the only names people recognized 

I bet you don’t know the names of 10 DC’s total .

How will Lindsey do at Michigan? Didn’t know who he was without googling did you! Moore just doesn’t care.

But we have tape and 12 games to base and formulate our opinions of Butler.
