Come on!!! Haha!If this is going to be a thread where decent people advocate for canned corn, I'm out.

Ummm, I think you mean "tell her to make it again"We don’t use the crock pot very often. Pretty much just gets used when I make chili or occasionally for apps like little smokies in bbq or chili & grape jelly sauce. Once in a while my wife will do something like pork chops with rice and some sort of soup or gravy. Not the best way to do lean pork imo.
I’ve done beef stew in the crock pot a couple times. Getting close to doing a Guiness Irish Beef stew. I want to try it using oxtail for the meat this time.
My wife does make a swiss steak and it’s been way too long since we’ve had that. It’s really good and no I don’t know the recipe. It’s basically tenderized top round that we tenderizer more with a mallet when we get it home. The meat gets floured and browned first then goes in the crock with a tomato based sauce kind of like for sloppy joes but more tomatoee. Serve that up with some mashed potatoes and you’ve got some good cold weather eating. You want to make a lot of the sauce because it’s super good on the mashers. Gonna have to talk her into making that again soon.
Um yeah….about that. That dog won’t hunt.Ummm, I think you mean "tell her to make it again"
Hahaha
I made some two weeks ago and threw nearly half of it away. I think I'll just start making it with half a bag.I have done ham and bean soup in the crockpot and it was super good but it just makes sooooo much that you kind of get sick of it.
Yes. Now that it's just me and the Mrs., we don't need to make nearly as much. However, I have recipes I want to try to see if they would be good for when the kids come back home. I don't want to invite someone over, in case it sucks. That's the sucky thing about cooking for one. Even if you cut recipes down, you still have way too much food. And not everything freezes well.
I threw out a full serving of one of my favorite stews the other day. I made it and ate and ate and ate it. But after like five servings, I was done.
Yes! And like you said, even if you LOVE what you made, by the 5th serving you are kind of over it.That's the sucky thing about cooking for one. Even if you cut recipes down, you still have way too much food. And not everything freezes well.
