Dave Weigel, national writer, went to the one in Greeley, CO and he said it took him awhile to find someone that supported Bernie in the 2020 primary.
And youre right, messages of improving healthcare, education and increasing wages are not what we want getting to the American people. In fact, all left wing ideas should be banned from this country because anti-Trump republicans who cant even keep their own party sane think its a good idea. And its not like some of these ideas work anywhere in the world, especially not in countries that rank in the top 10 for the highest happiness levels, so just muzzle it all.
By the way, any of the corporate centrist democrats could be leading the charge considering there was a leadership hole in the party after Kamala went silent. Instead they chose to play politics as normal and piss off 70% of the democratic base while dipping to a whopping 22% approval rating. Bernie and AOC just took it upon themselves to fill the hole since nobody else was.

I get what you're saying but Progressive candidates are the worst performing candidates Democrats have, and the vast majority of voters saw Harris as being more liberal than themselves.
If you enjoy losing elections and never controlling the Senate in your lifetime, then sure. We should prop the progressive left up and give them a bigger spot in the tent.
Personally, I'm a lot more interested in winning elections and using political power than I am feeling good that our worst candidates are making voters we don't have to win over by "fighting" Trump.

I know you would rather have the Schumer part of the party continue to do nothing. Its an easy way for republicans to keep winning. Having intelligent and strong democrats on tv is a threat to your party. Which is why Pam Bondi is threatening Crockett now if she doesnt tone it down with the Musk rhetoric. If she wasnt a threat, they wouldnt care what she said.

This isn't really true. Doing nothing is the best electoral strategy we have. It just sucks to experience.
But Crocket/AOC/Sanders represent the worst performing politicians we have. Democrats have to moderate and rebrand to the center in order to have a chance at building a successful electoral coalition.

I have a lot of the same feelings. I'm hoping they are just keeping the momentum going and then other leaders of the party move up in the party to change the messaging with fresh faces.
I've seen speculation that those two are going to form a ticket to run in 2028. That would be horrible for the party.
I also get the feeling that these are the same people who showed up to all of Harris's rallys. The crowds were big. But, they weren't big enough to win the election.

Bernie is not running again and I doubt AOC will either before being in the senate. He said as much yesterday in an ABC interview he did. Hes doing the rallies to motivate people to get involved with the political process and potentially run for office themselves.

Yeah, what the Dems really need is to double and triple down on the advice of the Third Way leadership that lost twice to Trump. I'm sure that will totally resonate with voters.

What they need to do is moderate, take popular positions, and show that they can effectively govern at the local level in states they control power. Pushing the party to the left is a disaster waiting to happen.
Call me crazy but I think it would be pretty awesome to nominate judges to the Supreme Court, pass laws, win at the state level to impact gerrymandering, and much more.
The worst performing politicians in the Democrat coalition are progressive candidates. The best performing candidates are the moderate 'blue dog' Democrats. If we want to win Senate seats in purple states, or win Senate seats in red states in blue wave years (like 2026 is going to be), we need to push more candidates that are moderate, nominate or don't contest candidates like Dan Osborne in Nebraska (and other similar deep red states) and shun candidates like Kara Eastman who fumbled NE-02 a few cycles ago.

I agree with taking popular positions, but the strongest the party has ever been is when they were progressive and farther to the left. The Dems continue to weaken over time as they become more corporate and try to take "middle" ground positions. I'd be fine with moderate positions, especially on the culture war nonsense the GOP keeps getting them to take the bait on. Moderate economic policy is mostly to the left of both parties these days though.

We can tread lightly on the transgender and Palestinian stuff that gets folks panties in a bunch, but the wealth and privilege disparity that's been the meat and potatoes of progressives forever is where the populism lives.
