The Democrat Utopia

I would LOVE to see the government stripped of wasteful spending, especially if it involves sweetheart investments to politician-friendly businesses that deliver terrible ROI. Everything you see on the federal level is repeated at the state and local level regardless of the party in office. Spreading taxpayer dollars to your friends and donors is considered the perk of government work across the globe.

I'd love to think every department and investment project undergoes an annual or even bi-annual review process to measure their success and justify future funding. I guess they do and it's just too cursory. Maybe each party feels they have to defend their project regardless of the raw numbers simply out of partisan pride. Here in the liberal Bay Area, when a Democrat gets caught feathering their nest and enriching their friends through a government or non-profit entity, they generally get fired on the spot. Virtually no one comes to their defense.

I suppose it's faster and easier to just slash funding across the board rather than take a minute to consider which projects have positive returns and which projects are boondoggles, and that's why a lazy and cruel DOGE approach is likely to come back and bite everybody.

Also, inefficient boondoggles aren't unique to government. The private sector is swimming in them, too, often getting taxpayer bailouts themselves. If you think government should be run more like a business, you have to maintain the same vigilance. And neither Trump nor Musk is approaching this like a smart businessman would.

I was off a little I will admit, it is $7 million per week for the budget, not just salaries. Been a little bit since Ive seen the stat. Still a hefty penny for a dept that was created out of thin air and isnt really in the federal budget to begin with.
In regards to your last sentence…Did you know (from your article) that the $7 million in funds used are actually in the 2024 budget?  It’s towards the bottom of the article.

Oh man.   Levi’s dude thinks going after arsonists and vandals is law fare. 😂
And lefties wonder why they are losing elections. 🤦‍♀️
Who typically handles vandalism or arson occurring at a business?  If this happened at my business should I expect the FBI to respond? Would they?

Of course “law enforcement” should respond to any cases of vandalism or arson. I think the distinction in this particular situation is that the FBI jumped right on it, obviously due to it being Musk’s company and at Trump’s request.  What other business owners should expect the President and FBI to become involved in their vandalism/arson cases?

Is this not a case of the FBI being used non-traditionally by a couple of rich guys? Can you distinguish why it might be considered law fare?

Does your business cross state lines?  Is it nationwide?
Do you know what the FBI is responsible for?

This must be another one of those “well I believe in one thing, but since Trump Admin believes in it too then f#&% it, I’m now totally against it.”

Yeah, I understand what the FBI does.  I was responding to you referring to it as “them” not wanting to respond to arson or vandalism and taking issue with “law fare”.

At the very least, this particular situation gives the appearance of  being an irregular response. At worst it can easily be seen as a misuse of power. Maybe another good reason Musk doesn’t belong doing what he’s doing.

Crimes targeted against a specific multi state company is kinda exactly where the FBI is useful 👍

Okay. As long is you feel it is consistent with how they’ve always been utilized before. Or is this another example of how Biden, Obama, Bush etc. floundered as President, by not immediately sending the FBI to the aid of multi state companies who experienced vandalism?
