Economy

This isn’t really a stretch to say if/when the tariff stuff gets worked out.   This issue is having to deal with the induced pain in between.  Especially if the deal coming out of the tariff war is the same or worse than what we had before.  If it’s better long term than oh well, however this is a big big gamble on trumps part.  He’s basically betting his Presidency on it and the US economy.
My fear is, the longer this goes, the more we push other countries to work together and against us. If you have Canada Mexico and the EU in a great relationship, the less they need us.

If they have each other….that gives them the ability to play the long game. I see a possibility they aren’t going to come after a deal as long as Trump is in office.

Remember, Canada and Mexico have already been through this once with Trump singing his own deal with them. That only resulted in him coming back a ting like he had nothing to do with it and they aré screwing us. Which, is total bull s#!t.

And, those relationships can take years to work out.

Im very interested in knowing what deal with these countries would be so much better than what we had before, makes all this worth it?

He’s a lame duck. This is it, he doesn’t get another term. Betting his presidency is as important to him as me betting you 4 trillion dollars. So we’re left with only him using our economy, our cost of living, our retirement savings, our jobs, our liberty as collateral damage for his deluded game of swinging his little pin d!(k around the US and the world.

I will never understand why you would carry one ounce of water for the prick, let alone gallons of it.

The Canada/Mexico piece of this is my biggest worry/issue too.

The Mexico wage gap is the biggest impediment to true free trade in North America IMO.   If their wages were more in line with ours, then it’s easy to say free trade across the board

He’s 1 year into a 4 year term.  Yes he’s betting his presidency on it.  He’s choosing this vs anything else he could have done in the first two years (when lame duck status does not matter)

Explain to me what value his presidency has to him.

He’s already using his position to grift and enrich himself and his cronies. That’s the only thing that has ever mattered to him, his bottom line. He doesn’t give a flying f#&% about us or the US. Anybody that thinks he cares about anything other than Donald J Trump is delusional. His presidency is only a means to an end.

It really is hard to tell when you are purposefully ignoring things. Like you really don't see any way that insanely wealthy people will benefit from this?
Anyone with money on the side will benefit from this.  The more you have on the side the more you can potentially benefit.  @teachercd mentioned this earlier.   Who was smart enough to get out vs who wasn’t.

Ok

Good for them.

I declare force majeure every day. If I quote a job and something out of my control (like idiotic tariffs) raises my cost, my quote is going to change.

But yeah, it’s pretty damn hard to conduct business in an environment when the manufacturer can’t nail down their costs and the customers don’t know what their cost is going to end up being.

Not much of an explanation of one of your core beliefs TBH.
Nothing I would say is gonna make announce of difference to you so why put in the effort TBH.
If all Trump cares about is grift and cares absolutely nothing about a good Presidential legacy (which only comes from implementing a Presidential agenda) why would he do anything with tariffs at all and create all this uncertainty.  He’s way way way better off doing nothing but immigration reform while grifting.

Because it takes an intelligence level of a post doctorate degree holder in quantum physics that an eye-drop salesman just doesn't possess to understand the possibility that someone as ethical and trustworthy as Trump would never, ever tipoff off a few insiders (for a price of course) just how deep and insane his tariffs were going to be a few hours before announcing it to the world.  There's no way the likes of Jared Kushner are sitting on a mountain of cash right now.

Actually a very good point, seriously. There is nothing you could say that would satisfy my curiosity as to why you have or ever would trust the narcissistic and selfish POS. I guess we’ll just leave it at, you blindly or misguidedly trust Trump/MAGA and hope, against all evidence, that they are operating in our best interests.  I don’t.
