QB Sean Renfree

father, if you could read closely, I am referring to Renfree's father who has stated that he will do everything in his power to make sure Nebraska never gets another recruit from Arizona now.

But I wouldn't expect you to read, understand and follow anything.
Wow, did he say that?

I was going to say, it's gotta be tough for Renfree to go through this because he didn't even get a chance to visit. But that's life, and that's recruiting...best of luck to him! His father, though, is going overboard if he's going to throw a fit over it.

We would've welcomed Renfree with open arms...but we were targeting just 1QB in this year's class, and that spot filled up...it happens. Makes no sense, on either side, to load up more than we have space for and just watch guys ride the pine or transfer.
Renfree could have also stood by his commitment to Georgia Tech and not had to deal with this. From what I understand, he decomitted the day of or after Johnson was named coach there, anticipating a change in offense to something option based.

Duke over Arizona State? I did not see that coming. I am sort of surprised this guy could not find a better place to land in the ACC, or maybe the Big 10 or Pac 10. I thought he might be one of the more overrrated Elite 11 QB's.

I would have like to have seen if we could have pulled him away from ASU if it came down to just the two. I don't think his dad will have much effect on Nebraska recruiting in Arizona, but Dennis E. will. I said that when he was hired, and he is starting to build up the program again like Frank Kush had. Decommits from Arizona are headed up there. It will be tough, tough tough, to get the top kids out of here pretty soon.

GBR!!!

Education was listed as a big factor, Duke is a much better education than ASU. He also wanted go somewhere that he could play right away. At ASU the stable is full, including John Elway's son who is an incoming Frosh as well. He'll get a better shot at playing right away at Duke. Of course, they'll go 2-10, but he'll get a shot to play.

does the name Cuttcliff ring a bell, coached both Manning boys, might be the reason that he chose Duke, plus ASU got John Elway Jr. to commit so they might not have been to interested

A Duke-education is a great thing to fall-back on if you don't make it to the next level. I'm surprised he made this decision but it does make some sense.
