My summer plans

I got an internship with a publishing company called Southwestern. Every summer they take a bunch of students to sell books to families (door to door, which will be brutal, but I'm very optimistic). As soon as finals end I'll be going to Nashville for a week of training, then upstate New York for twelve weeks of hardcore book selling.

Students in their first year typically make around $8,000. Students in their first year from UNK, for whatever reason, typically make around $10,000.

We leave in a month. I'm incredibly nervous/excited/terrified.

Get used to this.............*f*&k you, go away!!!!* *slams door*
Oh, I know. Can't wait. :)

And they're educational books for grades pre-K through 12 of various prices and intensity. I'm hoping that despite the rough economy, people will see them as an investment. Interestingly enough, Southwestern always posts bigger numbers in recessionary years. :dunno

Just keep wishing for the hot 20 something to answer the door naked. Though your odds are better of getting a bigfoot looking guy to answer the door naked first...

Note to self - turn off web cam when posting on HuskerBoard. Don't want strigori hurling on his keyboard...

I'm shipping out for training week in Nashville tomorrow morning. You guys have a great summer and I'll stop by when I can!

Look out, New York! :nutz

While you're up in New York be sure to support your Huskers by wearing some husker shirts on your days off. Just don't wear any when going door to door cause those New Yorkans might give you the New York finger and a lovely kick to your juggernaut and when I mean your juggernaut I mean this -------> :nutz

When I went to Vegas a few years ago just about everyday I had a different Husker shirt on and I got a few cheers but then I had one drag queen about ready to beat my a$$ as he/she chased me....I still don't know if he/she wanted to beat me up because of the shirt or because I poked fun of he/she selling itself on the street to make a days worth of hard earned money

I'm going to assume that it was because of the shirt <_<

Drove through Columbia yesterday . . . much nicer town than I expected.

Although at one point I saw a woman driving a pickup with one hand on the wheel and the other holding a baby. I thought to myself, "Gee, I must be in Missouri."
