This opinion is one of an inebriated individual and not the fan base as a whole. Im sure I speak for the majority when I say that we are thrilled to have Tyler

I promise you that I'm not a missouri fan, i'm almost pissed that i was referred as that, but yes I am definitely drunk. I should have reserved my opinion to myself, but on a serious note, I don't think he'll get playing time at all, IMHO

Then do us a favor and sleep it off...please.

Opinions are always welcome here as long as they are well thought out and reasoned.

Blaine Gabbert switched to Missouri because the coach he committed to was fired-I can't really blame him for going to another school.

As far as I know, Bo and the rest of the Huskers coaching staff are under no such pressure ergo Tyler's committment can be taken as to as close as rock solid as a verbal committment can be taken.

:yeah I totally agree. No telling what Clownahan was pulling at the time his brother pulled out. I think he has a lot of balls coming in here when we have some of the prospects that we do to compete against for a job, so I will take a wait and see approach on him. His attitude and level of skill will become fairly apparent rather quickly in this atmosphere. He isn't his brother...that could be a good thing or a bad thing, just have to see.

I think the kid is a nice pick up for you guys. not sure why you are holding him responsible for what his borhter did, he is a different person. Also, as mentioned before, given the reason his borther was coming it was not unethical in my view that he opted not to come... Not sure it is really fair to be mad at his brother either, definitely not sure why you are mad at this kid who has not done anything wrong...

I am very happy he is coming to NU. I just hope he gets a fair shake b/c what happened to his brother. I am sure if his brother pulled without a coaching change it would difficult to go after Tyler. As stated, I will play the wait and see game here to see how it all pans out. I think it would be great to have them go against each other and NU kicks the sh*t out of Missery!!!!

We will never really know the full story with what was going on with Clownahan and his brother - what was said. Usually if someone comes out and trashes the other side publicly after something like this we look at it and say it just wasn't classy. So it is usually best for both parties to keep their mouthes shut - which leaves the guessing to the fans.

I won't hold this against Gabbert's brother, especially since we all know what a class act Clownahan turned out to be. I will root for Nebraska to beat him if he starts at Missouri though - just because he is at Missouri. I don't see that the brothers will ever actually play head to head though, I think Gabbert will be on the bench for quite a while behind some other guys - we have a lot of talent, and like I said - I give the kid credit for wanting to come in here and compete for a job knowing that it isn't going to be easy to get any playing time, let alone a starting position.

First of all he isn't his brother, that doesn't mean he won't decommit ever but any recruit could decommit...

As for playing time, in order to improve as a program we need to stockpile the best talent we can every year. Why does USC go out and get the a QB in pretty much every class?

Gabbert actually defected before Callahan was fired. And what is even more interesting is that the older Gabbert had created the bond with Watson, who wasn't going anywhere. The OP maybe drunk and full of venom, but does bring up an interesting point.

Regardless, I say welcome to Tyler and hope he has made the right decision for him.

I've heard interviews with the HI guys on 1620 and on Husker Nightly that made it sound like Blaine might hvae been considering recommiting to NU after he found out that Watson would be retained post Cally.

Sure sounds like the relationship was solid but the uncertainty at the time made for a hard choice. At least that's what I got from these 2 interviews and some of Tylers comments seem to back that up.

Now with 2 Rivals 4 star QBs in 2 years, does Bo become the nest great recruiting Guru. After all how many 4 star QBs did the evil one bring aboard.

you are correct. blaine decommitted because he knew callahan was going to be fired and he assumed that meant watson would also be fired. when he found out that watson would be retained he actually contacted the coaches and asked if there was any room left for him. there was no room left so he stayed committed to the devil tiggers....
