Yep to both. My first instinct was to just ban him. But I'm beginning to have second thoughts - what if we left it for a while? This is a slow time, and those kind of posts inevitably generate responses. So long as it doesn't get too out of hand, it could be kind of entertaining. We could cut the regulars a little slack on the personal attack rule - or move the posts to the Woodshed.

On the other hand, if we let it go, folks could begin to think they can flame away.

Thoughts?

 
My first thought is that I had to zing one at this asswipe.

Secondly the thread has completely derailed. 1 st sign of crossing the line( personal attack/ name calling) I think we lock it up. Right now he is throwing out the normal low grade used and tired smack. Good for amusement.

Yes, but others are crossing the line and attacking and name calling. At what point are we going to say he can't do it, but the rest of you can?

No not my point at all. We bent the rules because of the off season when folks were throwing everything in the football forum because of boredom.

This is no different in my opinion if we monitor the situation correctly. That and in the post you quoted I mentioned that this person needs to take smack 101 because they have nothing.

IMO it wouldn't have lead to nothing but a move to the shed and something for some of our members to do while this mind numbing off season passes.

But I understand your point aswell. Just didnt see that person as much of a threat more of a distraction from monotony , but as I mentioned I do see your point too.
