2 things I would like to work on

1. I would like to get a daily updated list of Husker news articles posted everyday located just under the banner. We currently have some listed on the bottom, but those articles suck. In other words I would like to have Huskerpedia's front page located on the top of our page. We will not have someone post articles each day. Let's think of some way we could get this done. I'll see if Joe has any ideas this might possible work.

2. Getting the Countdown clock and all it's advertisements on top of the screen. I thnk we have talked about this before, but I can't remember what the outcome was.

Any other ideas we would like to see please list them in a seperate thread so we can discuss them. Now is the time to experiment.

 
Number 2 is do-able. The problem in the past was that no one ever adjusted the CSS component for the increased size - things got truncated. But we can do it now. I'll have to pay with it to get it just right, but that shouldn't be a problem. If no one objects, though, I'll probably save that project for a late night or some time when there aren't a lot of folks on the Board.

Number 1 is a problem. We can post a link to anything - it's updating that's going to be an issue. Unless it's an RSS feed, not really sure how we could automate it. Talking to Joe is a good idea, though.

I may be wrong, but aren't feeds automated anyway? Can't we just put in some "widget" like code?

Yes - that's what I was trying to say. The feed at the bottom of the opening page is an RSS agregator - we could, I think, move it to the top and set it to pull from some other sources. The only other issue is that the top of the page is going to get very busy if we move a lot of stuff up there.

Sure - but I think part of this might be an attempt to place some ads at the top so we can charge a higher price for those. ETR will have to take a look and see what he likes.

Right now, I have to get the JavaScript to kick off on the clock - not sure why it's not working.

There's no way we're doing it if someone to get up every morning and copy/paste some codes to update it.

Keep brainstorming. You guys are the pros at this computer crap.

That's okay if no one likes it now. This is how we get new and better ideas. Leave it there for now. Could we make it a bit smaller like a few have said?

I can probably reduce the size a little - I'll give it a go tonight and if I can do it alter the code.

Everyone hates changes initially, but I know that Chad has been approached with some good add deals if he could post them at the top part of the page. He had to renegotiage for the bottom becase at that time we couldn't post at the top.

 
Okay, I've tightened it up as best I could - probably reduced the overall header by about 75 pixels or so. Can't really reduce things much more than that without making it unreadable.
