2010 schedule

Noogie idea is fine by me. I've always wanted to take a road trip in a nice RV.

I think in the current era, any type of bowl streak has really lost it's luster. When the big name programs are paying for three easy wins, that leaves just three left to make a bowl game. There are way too many bowl games as it is.

So did you mean to b!^@h slap NU with this comment? Because I don't recall going to a bowl a couple of seasons not too long ago.

This is a money issue. If big programs are scheduling like this because only weak programs will agree to playing away games with no payback, the incentives need to be changed. Maybe the TV money could be reworked to let individual schools (both home and away teams) get more of the money for their games that are televised. That way, schools would have the incentive to schedule tougher games to up their chances of getting on TV.

On a side note, it will be nice to see a kid from North Platte play QB when Idaho comes to town. I think that will be his fourth year starting.

Wont happen hes a JR this year Next year is pretty much set and that would be his last year unless a red shirt.

Ughhhh

What an abysmal non conference schedule. It's....embarrassing.

I'm not looking forward to all the crap we're going to get from opposing fans about having south dakota state on our schedule.
I've been griping LOUDLY about it for awhile now, but who, exactly, would be giving us crap? Have you seen other Big 12 non-conference schedules? I'd say at least we don't have a recent track record of playing FCS teams like many of the conference teams.
I do agree...however, have you been paying attention to the type of opposing fanbases we get on here. Logic isn't really one of their strong suits.

They could lose to Eastern West Tennessee Tech for the blind and still give us crap for scheduling South Dakota State.
Having seen the the Huskies and the Vandals play the last few years, I'd say the Jackrabbits might not be the worst team we play in non-con next year. I'd say all around we couldn't get a much easier start to the season. I'm actually not opposed to cupcake schedules, I'm just pointing out that just because they're FCS doesn't mean that they're the worst team we could schedule.
Lets not go disrespecting the Huskies just yet. In case anyone hasn't noticed it only took Steve Sarkisian at Washington 3 games to get his SIGNATURE win. Were still waiting for ours!

:dumdum Excuse me? No, I wasn't "b!^@h slapping" anyone. Our truly amazing bowl streak ended six seasons ago, so I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.

I'm saying that, with pointless bowls being added ($$$) nearly every year, and the three cupcake a year scheduling tactic becoming more of the norm by many of the big name programs, any current and future bowl streaks will not impress me (or many others). Since you only need six wins to make a bowl game, and schools are paying for three wins on a regular basis, that means you simply have to go at least 3-6 in your "real" schedule in order to go to a bowl every year.

and conversely NU must really really really suck since we couldn't even get to a bowl game 2 years out of the last 5.

Umm, yeah. You watched the games right? We did really, really, really suck in 04 and 07. Although in 04's defense, we only played 11 games, and there was only one cupcake on the schedule.

Didn't dispute that, what does that do for everyone who was excited to get back into a bowl game last season?
