Defensive Improvement

We have been hearing and reading about the vast improvements made by the defense, so what player on the defense do you believe has improved the most?

Personally I have been completely blown away by the improvement in Matt O'Hanlon. Sure, he has had a few boneheaded plays (VaTech is a big one) but his improvement in tackling, coverage and overall knowledge of the schemes and game have made him a extremely valuable asset to the defense. He has blitzed well, made solid tackles, shown great speed and led the team in picks. His documented rise from a walk-on to All-Big 12 HM safety and legitimate NFL prospect is one hell of an improvement in my eyes. What do you think?

There are so many to choose from, and it almost feels like picking one is doing to others a disservice, heh. But I am going with O'Hanlon mainly because I thought he was a lost cause. His play was just so horribly bad, but he has turned into a very, very good safety.

Is this for this year or when Pelini took over?

If it's for when Pelini took over it has to be SUH.

If it's for this year then Dillard is the guy.

I will miss seeing O'Hanlon streaking in and tackling the wr in the screen passes like he did in the last two game.

Dillard started the year at what 4th string. He didn't even play the start of the season. This is why I say he's the biggest turn around. Didn't Carl state Dillard was his biggest success story?

I think so. I remember hearing them talking at the start of this season on 1620 and commenting how Dillard had once looked to be a key player but he wasn't even 3rd string at the start of this season, etc. He's definitely turned it around.

its tough to say, everyone got better. I'd say it's a toss up with Matt O'Hanlon and Prince Amukamara. You could see them get better game by game. I am excited about the future of this program. :bonez
