oooh- I knew there was a catch

I did end up buying a Toshiba from Amazon, but then I was thinking "Why don't I get myself a $30 netbook." I am fairly sure I would have caught on, but having the math in front of me sealed the deal.

Can you buy some sort of mobile device so you can have computer access anywhere on a pay per minute or hour deal without a plan? Kinda like a prepaid cellphone? I travel some and having internet access on my laptop would be great.

You can always pay by the MB used, which will get expensive quickly if you're surfing the web or downloading a lot of information. Like Okieland said, most airports offer free Wifi in the terminals, most hotels have Wifi for pretty cheap and some airlines are offering Wifi access on a per flight basis.

It depends on what cell phone provider you use. I have Sprint phone service and I got my wireless card for 30 bucks and I pay 15 bucks a month for unlimited usage. The wireless card is awesome! You can even buy a 30 dollar boost antenna for it. We are out of town a lot during the fall but I still get to watch all the Husker games because of that thing.

Idk where you guys get your info from or if you do much research at all! There is a netbook made by a company called Accer that makes in my mind the top netbook. The only reason you would buy one from your cell phone provider is if you needed the internet where there was not a wifi hot spot. Thee absolute only think that you need with the netbook is an external cd drive, if you plan to burn cds or upload any special software. And in a previous post someone mention a usb drive, anyone who is computer oriented has one of these. Accer I highly recommend it if you are looking for a netbook.

If you are looking for a one stop shop computer you cant go wrong with a macbook. They are second to none and the customer service and satisfaction is second to none. Also a tip all apple products minus ipods and phone your receive a student discount on.
