Also, playing them like it was settling something would legitimize their '97 argument, when actually, they had none. We were better! :cowbell:

plus, we obviously settled the score in the 2005 alamo bowl.

This sounds like my idea for calling the game the "1997 Bowl". Except I suggested having Lloyd Carr and TO act out a wizard-style duel at halftime.

I still like the idea of Nebraska and Wisconsin. Make a bronze trophy of Tom Ozborne, and Barry Alvarez, call it the Big Red Trophy. Winner gets the trophy, AND the right to wear home Uni's in the next game. IE, Say Nebraska beats Wisky at Memorial stadium they take home the trophy and would wear home uni's (Red Jersy white pants) AT Wisconsin the next year. Loser has to wear all whites. Sounds cool to me.. :box

I've thought about this too. I don't think the schools need a trophy. The winner of the previous years game gets to wear the red this coming year. OR the loser of last years game has to wear pink jerseys while the winner wears the red. Think of the marketing. Women love those pink jerseys and I be a lot of female husker/badger fans would buy a pink husker/badger jersey.

As far as a rival is concerned. Iowa is going to be it. That's no disrespect to Wisconsin, but it makes sense. Iowa <i>wants</i> their rival in Wisconsin or Minnesota, but both of those schools consider their true rival each other. The UW-Minn game is their rivalry game, Nebraska gets Iowa.

The only other school that might be in line for a rival would be Penn State if they are in our division.
